US has spent nearly $5 trillion on wars since 9/11: Should the US continue to fight wars abroad?

  • Safety is important.

Of course the United States should continue to fight wars abroad. If we do not do this, then we will eventually see wars on our own soil. Would anyone really say that we should have stayed out of WW2? IF we had done so, how many more millions of Jews would have been exterminated?

  • Yes, destroy the source.

US spending about $5 trillion on wars since 9/11 is very justifiable, I support US insurgence on foreign territories to neutralize the terror cells. Like Bush said, we should take war to them. The effective way to deal with terror is finding the source and confront it from that point before it comes to us.

  • No, we shouldn't

We should not continue to fight foreign wars. Pre-emptive strikes are unreasonable, considering we have the strongest army on our home turf. Vietnam is a great example. More than 533,000 troops died to prevent the spread of communism, but Vietnam is a small country and we basically lost by the casulties

  • No, the US should stop fighting wars abroad.

No, the US should stop fighting wars abroad because there are too many big issues without our own country. Why should the US try to make another nation better when our own roads and bridges are crumbling? The US should first make sure that its own people are healthy and happy.

  • No, the US should not continue to fight wars abroad.

No, the US should not continue to fight wars abroad. The conflicts in the middle east has been a losing cause. The US has had troops stations in the middle east for over ten years and nothing has been accomplished. It is such a waste of American resources and men. The US should focus more on domestic issues.
