Killing civilians

The bombs were dropped as a direct retaliation action of the U.S.A. To the attack of pearl harbor, which is a military facility. It was USA's military naval gateway to the pacific and south east Asia. But why must the bombs dropped in the middle of civilian cities, i.e. Nagasaki and Hiroshima, where the majority casualties were civilians. Not to mention the long term effect the nuclear weapon has on the public health for decades. U.s.a. Was and still is the only nation that have deployed full scale nuclear attack on another nation. And now they are ironically championing the anti-nuclear campaign. To me, the bomb on Japan was far worst than the alleged holocaust during the ww2. Nagasaki and Hiroshima are the real holocaust!

Let me give you a couple of points here that are FACTS.
1. The U.S.A Provoked the Japanese which caused Japan to attack Pearl Harbor.
2. The U.S.A Had to bomb civilian cities to show the Japanese government that they had to surrender, otherwise the U.S. Troops would have to sacrifice they're lives by going from island to island just to finish the war.
3. The first city bombed the Japanese government did not back down and surrender so the U.S. Dropped the second bomb and they finally Surrendered, thus ending the war with the Japanese that the U.S. Caused in the first place.

To anonymous. After dropping the first one, they only waited only for 3 days until they dropped the next one. If they waited for the surrender they might have waited for a week at least.

Just to let you know, the USA has never used a nuclear device, they dropped an atomic bomb, not a nuclear bomb.

We bombed those cities because they were untouched and war factories there that were making weapons to kill americans. And japan put those factories right next to hospitals and civilians on purpose. They forced us to drop a bomb there. And the civilians weren't so "innocent". They were trained to kill american soldiers. And it was war. We didn't do it to get revenge. It was the best option at the time. This saved millions of american lives and even a few million japanese lives

You think that you could use that point without knowing the history the Japanese made, look up "Rape of Nan Jing" then look back here

Ah yeah true, i guess the Americans thought eye for a eye and that also justified them raping japanese woman in Okinawa after the war?

To the first commenter, i laughed seriously! The bombs were NUCLEAR BOMBS! Atomic bombs are a type of nuclear bomb. The difference between the two is that Atomic- refers to the fact that it is a bomb on the atomic level while Nuclear- refers to the nucleauses in the atoms. That doesn't change the fact that the bombs were nuclear bombs and extremely destructive both in the immediate term and long term (radiation).

Your argument is disgusting and it shows how unbelievably arrogant you are, you honk that the deaths of 246,000 people (some innocent some soldiers) is worse than the 11,000,000 people killed by the nazis? (All innocent) you make me sick and you should be ashamed of yourself.

11,000,000 innocent is better than a couple hundred thousand? And the reason Hiroshima was chosen was because the Second Japanese Army was there!!
