Were the ancient Egyptians black (yes) or white (no)?

  • Think about it.

Egypt is in Africa. It is only logical that the Ancient Egyptians were african (black). Media keeps depicting Egyptians as white and I think it's because certain white people are too frail and biased to acknowledge that other ethnicities were capable of creating vast kingdoms and empires. This eurocentric attitude needs to go. Egyptians were black and that's okay. I acknowledge this as a white person.

  • Some might have been

The Southern Kingdom of Egypt is likely to have had dark-skinned or mixed-race Pharaohs due to its proximity to Nubia and Ethiopia. I don't have proof but its likely. Their heritage is older compared to the north. There were various dynasties in Egypt. The North was more haughty and had light-skinned, Red-haired Pharaohs.

  • I just found this online

From Egyptian art, We know that people were depicted with reddish, Olive, Or yellow skin tones. The Sphinx has been described as having Nubian or sub-Saharan features. And from literature, Greek writers like Herodotus and Aristotle referred to Egyptians as having dark skin. Aug 4, 2014

Afrocentric: the ancient Egyptians were black Africans, Displaced by later movements of peoples, For example the Macedonian, Roman and Arab conquests.

  • Black stealing Egyptian culture

Egyptians were not black. DNA tests have shown no negro heritage. Also look at all the art and drawings, There are no blacks. The only blacks visible are in one tomb of Ramsis the III when he had a conquering campaign in Nubia with charriots and horses. People need to get educated.

Yet blacks claim it for prestige. That is cultural appropriation.

  • No historical text of the time states they were black

Nubia was a part of egypt which ancient writers all agree was distinct from the rest of egypt because they were black. Writers like Herodotus, Plutarch and others tend to describe everything worth noting about the peoples they encounter - which often included skin color if worth noting. Greeks were whiter than they are now, And they are still white.
