If we go easy on the kids, they wont learn from their mistakes. They will keep making these mistakes until they receive appropriate punishment for what they did. They probably wont think much of it and make the same mistake later in life, or worse mistakes. They need to learn now that they messed up, so they will always remember it.
They have to learn that what they did is wrong and be punished fully. They must have a substantial part of their life spent in prison. They must learn the hard way. By giving them a light sentance, we are warranting them to commit another violent and dangerous felony. This could be extremely harmful
Because they are committing the same crime just because they are younger does not mean a thing kids have brains they know right from wrong just as adults even if they have a disability they still committed the crime so just because they are younger means nothing would you hold a very old person with disabilities the same thank about it
Trying children as adults has coincided with lower rates of juvenile crimes. Today, kids are more sophisticated at a younger age and understand the implications of violence.Harsh sentencing acts a deterrent to kids who are considering to commit serious crimes.
Allowing juveniles who commit serious crimes to serve short lenient sentences does not do justice to society and the victims involved
Racism and adult sentencing of juveniles should be treated as two separate issues; fixing one does not reform the other. No matter what their race, all juveniles should be equally subject to the possibility of facing adult punishments. The maximum punishment that a juvenile can receive is time in juvenile correction facilities, until the age of twenty-one. For a 17-year-old murderer to only receive four years in a correctional facility is disgraceful and unjust. Under this policy young criminals could be back on the streets by twenty-one to possibly commit more serious crimes
I say yes, because if that kid or juvenile did the same crime as an adult they should get the punishment no matter what. Like for example, if your child killed a person would'nt you you give them the same punishment as adults do? You kid or juvenile should know what is right from wrong. They should change to let juveniles in prison no matter what age they are. They can commit so many crimes such as murder, rape, or other serious crimes. Keep are U.S. safe. P.S ( i like caps.)
If you are a juvenile or not, you should get the same punishments as adults. Even if their brains aren't developed, the should have something that's known as common sense not to be killing people. The same punishment should happen for the same crime, no matter the age. You do the crime, you do the time.
Adults and juvenile both are capable of understanding what's right and wrong, and should deserve to get same punishment.Whenever juvenile commit crime such as murder, rape, child molestation or other serious crime they know that types of act is wrong and can have choice not to do so.And some of them aren't being persuade.
Juveniles should get more punishment as compared to an adult, since adult is more worldly wise, is aware of what should be done and what should not be done. Juveniles may commit the same crime in influence of some adult or could have been persuaded by someone to do so. Whereas Adults doesn't trust anyone so easily are and have intellect of what is wrong for them.
A crime is a crime If an juvenile commits an adult crime he is not innocent anymore. He needs to be punished.
It is also the fault of our society. People in our society encourage juveniles to commit crime because they know that they will not be punished severely. People who encourage such things should also be punished.
I think that if a juvenile commits a violent or heinous crime, then they should receive a justifiable punishment that fits the crime. They should be treated as adults for the most part when it comes to these kinds of crimes. Everyone knows that it is not ok to commit a violent crime, so if one is committed than that person should suffer the consequences.
Kids can't advocate for themselves, When under pressure children might even claim guilty for things they didn't do! If a child does something terribly bad they should be punish but not as bad as an adult who ment it whole heartedly! Kids are so young and more likely to change, so let them.
Juveniles can't advocate for them selves. Being user a lot of pressure in the court could make them say the wrong decision. If its a child's crime, they wouldn't have to be punished by the government, but by a parent or guardian. Jail is not needed for anyone! Second chances!
Be held accountable to the same punishment that a adult would recieve for commiting the same crime. They should not because they are just kids and they are still learning. They do not know as much as adults, and they are not fully developed yet so they should not be given as harsh of a punishment.
Juveniles should get less punishment as compared to an adult, since adult is more worldly wise, is aware of what should be done and what should not be done. Juveniles may commit the same crime in influence of some adult or could have been persuaded by someone to do so. Whereas Adults doesn't trust anyone so easily are and have intellect of what is wrong for them.
The juveniles do not deserve the same punishments as the adults. They completely do not deserve it. Unless they have committed a huge crime, there is no need. After all, the are still kids right? So, if you are a lawyer reading this, listen up buddy. They don't deserve it.
Juveniles are of little wisdom and understanding, they cannot make decisions on their own. They might be dared by friend to do things, they then fall into danger of which they did not mean to do due to mistakes or peer pressure. They seldom become sad and take the guilt of what they did not mean to do.Yes,they should be punished but not as harsh as that of the adults who have high sense of reasoning and can make wise decisions.

They are kids, how would you feel if you saw a 9 year old accidentally kill someone by accident say like pulling a prank that's gone bad. How would you think the kid would be treated, no one would believe him in court and if he is sent to jail and has to spend several years or their whole life in their, they won't have a childhood. The kid would possibly be raped, or part-take in illegal gang activities inside prison. Would you like to see a child's future ruined like that?
