• Soccer on the rise

Soccer may not be the most popular sport to watch on TV, but I think that it will be one day. Kids all over the U.S. spend every Saturday playing soccer. It is a very popular sport for children and families. So as these kids grow up, they will most likely enjoy watching soccer on TV just as people now enjoy watching football.

  • Soccer popularity rising in America

Soccer is slowing but steadily gaining in popularity in the United States. It is getting more air time and especially since the USA national team made it past the exhibition round in the World Cup in 2014, many Americans are starting to follow soccer more. Soccer has many of the same rules as hockey and overall the two sports are extremely similar, and soccer is more affordable for the average American so I think soccer will keep increasing in popularity in the USA.

  • It already has

The more the sport gets exposed in the United States the more popular it will become, as it does when the World Cup comes around. It will need to be shown more on tv for this to happen, and there should be news coverage in local and natonal papers and online and it will happen.

  • No, soccer never will increase in popularity among Americans because of football

Soccer has been around longer than American football, however that doesn't matter to Americans. Americans love football so much they have large "Bowl" games with large advertising behind it. Too much of the American sports culture revolves around the football psyche which is: advance and advance some more. Soccer concentrates more on footwork. It is almost like comparing ballet to clog dancing.
