  • 2 years isn't long enough for anything catastrophic to happen.

If your worry is that climate change will harm us. The most recent predictions say that the major effects will happen later closer to 2060-2100. Trump will still be in office by 2020, but only for a year. People may talk about trump and nuclear war, however in my opinion, that seems very unlikely, considering that it would most likely mean the destruction of their country.

  • Depends on luck...

In the 21st century we face 2 major threats: socialism (terror-maintained tyranny) and artificial intelligence.
Socialist countries like China are developing. They are as dangerous as our previous enemy -- the Soviet Union. If we are lucky, it will only be another cold war; if not, then...
Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, will increase the unemployment rate drastically because there are few occupations that would not get replaced by robots. Imagine if almost nobody gets a job to feed himself/herself, what will happen.
All in all, it is unlikely that we survive much longer in this world. It is still possible that we survive, but unlikely: if luckily the Chinese government is overthrown by rebellion and laws are enacted to ensure the survival of the unemployed.
