Ones with true medicinal value. Not placebos and tranquilizers.

I must also side with those who are against legalizing all drugs. Legalizing every drug is too extreme and potentially harmful in the long run. However, I do support the legalization of some drugs that are currently illegal. Marijuana is a clear example of one of these drugs as recreational use poses no greater risk than the recreational use of alcohol, and there is also statistical evidence that verifies Cannabis' medicinal properties. I may be willing to support the legalization of Lysergic Acid(LSD) to some degree as well, but I personally believe that the legalization of LSD should be strictly used for medicinal purposes. Studies were conducted in the 1950's and 1960's using LSD to help treat patients with psychological disorders. The studies were done in a controlled setting under the care of a licensed psychiatrist. Many doctors stated that while the drug did not exactly cure their patient's ailment, it still allowed the patient to have more insight into why they felt the way that they did. In other words, the Lysergic Acid aided the patient in becoming more self-aware of their psychological condition and allowed them to more easily develop solutions in tackling their condition. In addition, LSD has never caused an actual overdose which makes the drug less physically detrimental than even that of nicotine(especially the nicotine found in cigarettes) or alcohol. However, I do not believe LSD should be allowed to be used for recreational purposes, unlike Marijuana. LSD can be very potent and trigger extreme paranoia, delusional thinking, panic attacks, and overall experiences that can simply be overwhelming and frightening to an individual. Therefore, the use of LSD should be conducted while under the care of licensed medical professionals within a strict but comfortable controlled setting. The substance should also never be considered an absolute cure for any person's psychological condition, and it should be very seldom administered(not given to a patient often). Other drugs such as Cocaine, Heroin, Benzodiazepines, Amphetamines, MDMA(ecstasy), PCP, and quite a few other substances should not be legalized for any recreational use at all. Drugs such as Cocaine, Amphetamines, various opiates/opiods, and Benzodiazepines do have medical uses, but they should be prescribed by a doctor only when alternative methods or medications have been tried. For example, medically prescribed cocaine can be prescribed for an individual with severe thyroid complications or very severe ADHD. This applies to amphetamines as well. Benzodiazepines can be given for people who exhibit crippling anxiety, and opiates can be prescribed to people who are experimenting excruciating pain as a result of an illness, disease, personal injury, or post-surgical procedure. I even feel that heroin could be legally given(for medical reasons only) to help an individual who is suffering and possibly dying from cancer which is causing the individual unbearable pain. In conclusion, I do not support the idea that people should be allowed to simply walk into some store and randomly purchase any drug they want without any restrictions or regulations. Allowing such extreme decriminalization is simply too radical in approach, encourages those within society to use any drug without stressing the physical/psychological consequences, and quite frankly seems blatantly immoral in principle and lawless. Some people could say that drug use is a personal choice, and it is. However, it doesn't take away the factor that there must be some aspect of law in regards to universal drug use. Alcohol alone causes enough DUI charges and deaths each year to make attaining every drug with literally no effort(and thus making them appear in a way that carries little consequences) an increased substantial risk to the overall well being of those within society. The only drug(other than those already legal such as nicotine and alcohol) that I personally believe should be legalized for both medicinal and recreational purposes is Cannabis. I would possibly be willing to support the legalization of Lysergic Acid(LSD) to be used strictly for medical purposes in a very controlled environment by those in the psychiatric field. I could not support the recreational use of LSD since it could pose a risk to the well-being of others, lead to completely illogical choices, and cause a psychological breakdown without a licensed doctor being present to help the user calm down.

I'm all for legalizing something like weed or maybe even magic mushrooms (if people are careful with them, and don't end up poisoning themselves). However, things like methamphetamine, cocaine, or heroin... No, just no. They are far too dangerous, far too addicting, and their effects are far too severe

If the drug isnt toxic to the body why not
