The NRSC pulled the official payroll records for Democrat Senator offices and calculated the average pay for men and women for the most recent 6 month period available. Here’s what was found: (1) Mark Udall pays women 91 cents for every dollar that a man makes. (1) Mary Landrieu pays women 88 cents for every dollar that a man makes. (3) Mark Begich pays women 82 cents for every dollar that a man makes. (4) Mark Warner pays women 75 cents for every dollar that a man makes. (5) Gary Peters pays women 67 cents for every dollar that a man makes. That was just a sample of some Senators. On average, these five Democrats on the ballot in battleground states pay women in their office 80 cents for every dollar made by a male employee.
Two things about this, by the way: one, the NRSC is of the opinion that CO, MI, and VA are in play (I’m inclined to agree). Two: the ‘pay gap’ for the District of Columbia happens to be 95 cents on the dollar. Which means that Democrats aren’t just failing to live up to the standards of their own "propaganda", when it comes to ‘equal pay’: they can’t even match the expectations and practices of the freaking Imperial Capital.
PS: Yes, I am aware that there are a whole host of legitimate reasons for pay differences. The problem here is that either the Democratic party leadership was not aware of said reasons, or else they thought that nobody would call them on the Democrats’ plan to say one thing and do another. If the Democrats didn’t want to be judged by this standard, then they shouldn’t have tried to impose it in the first place.
Well maybe i can pass that along to some of my buds overseas, My wife would have a few questions for the purchase of an attractive woman's DVD. Even though my wife and I are open about who we think is hot i think that would cross that little red line. Cross-fit has done you well, lol!
Personally, I think both parties are overflowing with hypocrites. With regard to women's pay, I distinctly remember that the Bush 41 White House paid male staffers & aides much more than females. I remember it, because I voted for him! Currently, the GOP is no better at equal pay than Dems. That makes me think of an old cliché, "The pot can't call the kettle black!"
FYI ... http://www.nationaljournal.com/congress-legacy/how-congressional-republicans-and-democrats-pay-women-20120711
I could add that wasteful spending is in both parties, but that's another issue. The same hypocrites, though.
^No argument, well said SweetTea! However, i was more or less looking at current events that have surfaced. I think when Dems condemn republicans for being womanizers and warring on women, then see statistics like in my first post I find it hard to believe the Democrats would point fingers as much as they do. That is the essence of this post!
Jifpop09 ... The avatar that Fearthebeard1 uses is a Navy Trident which is given to Navy SEALs upon completion of their Naval Spec Warfare Training at BUDs. In the Vietnam days, it was affectionately known as a "Budweiser" for the obvious resemblance to that logo.
The real question remains: Is he or isn't he a SEAL? You see, Jifpop, more people actually claim to be SEALs than anything else. So the Trident, while paying homage to the Teams, doesn't prove anything.
Fearthebeard1 ... It appears that the "essence of your post" is to only point out hypocrisy in one party. That, my friend, is biased. If hypocrisy disturbs you, as it does me, you should be willing to call out all of the guilty!
FearTheBeard1 ... How weird! I'm 54 & you are the first person who ever accused me of being pessimistic. Most say I am optimistic, or overly optimistic. A few have said I'm the most optimistic person that they know. Hmmm. Are you confusing pessimism with caution? Or skepticism? I wonder.
@sweetTea, First impressions are very telling but not the entire persons personality. I was calling you pessimistic because of the attack on my Integrity without so much as a follow up question! As regards to my political views, you referenced my view point biased, well in this poll yes it is. In my general overall opinion on politics they are all corrupt and Washington needs to hit the Start Over button. You seem very emotional about the Democratic party. I have watched your opinion through other polls on this sight. From what i have seen in the short amount of time on here, you speak out of both sides of your mouth. You say you are an independent but your voting history and ideals, and the general way you approach persuasive politics is very Democratic. Now with that being said, I do not care if you are a Tea party nut job, a liberal or a republican. Do not be ashamed if you are more democratic in ideology, this is America, last time I checked and everyone is entitled to their own belief. I have not doubt that you either have a political Science degree or lots of class room time in a poly science area. Would you feel comfortable giving out your personal name and occupation? No I thought not, you enjoy anonymity online as well. That is good you are making yourself a hard target not a soft target. I do not enjoy the PING, PONG, PING, PONG of negativity, so lets find some common ground! I respect your family members who have served and currently serving. Additionally I hear Spartanburg is beautiful in the spring, so enjoy yourself some outside time.
