Are too many Queer characters on TV getting killed off?

Posted by: SegBeg

There's this idea in the LGBT community called the "bury your gays trope" where they say that Queer women are killed off more than straight people are. Do you agree with this sentiment and should more Queer characters be kept alive?

  • YES! We need more happy endings for Queer characters!

  • No. Who cares if a Queer character gets killed off? It's just a character!

  • Don't get me wrong I'm all for queer community. I'm bisexual. But talking about them getting killed off on shows is just stupid. people get killed off on shows all the time. it's nothing to be worried about. you'd be fighting for an unnecessary thing. there's more important things to be fighting for.

  • They shouldn't be magically safe from being killed off just because they're queer.

The type of shows that have Queer characters tend to be more fantasy/sci fi oriented where lots of characters die. I don't think it's personal.
