  • Straight person has the right to marry opposite sex, gay person has the right to marry opposite sex. EQUALITY. Adding a new right for EVERYONE doesn't make equality

  • I am all for their whole "civil union" thing. No sense forcing a church, that has principles to uphold, to accommodate a few aberrants, simply because people not in its congregation don't like its policies.

@Jihadist and you should get off this site
tajshar2k says2015-07-12T21:22:09.6328404-05:00
Ignore him. He's known on the site for being a troll. Only a matter of minutes before he gets banned.
tajshar2k says2015-07-12T21:22:47.1624790-05:00
Nvm he got banned already.
JihadistTwo says2015-07-12T21:28:19.9429646-05:00
@sara_ann_dee But gays should be tortured according to islamic law. The quran defines marriage between a man and a woman.
OpinionPersom121 says2015-07-13T07:00:07.7729987-05:00
Well this site is not on what laws are its for opinions we have and the options are respectful not rude

God is against same-sex marriage, so am I.
birdlandmemories says2015-07-13T11:50:48.8805449-05:00
I was against gay marriage as a Christian, but then since I have become an agnostic atheist I've suddenly been a major advocate for gay rights.
komododragon8 says2015-07-13T11:58:24.5287118-05:00
Forthelulz: Countless churches do accept gay marriages. Are you going to repress their religous rights by preventing them from marrying people.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-13T12:03:56.1198915-05:00
@TBR Well, that was uncalled for. http://s.quickmeme.com/img/3a/3a317e0bead54f3c36d99d15a0eab704621353e57c2af597dcbdff259b72b3e0.jpg
TBR says2015-07-13T12:22:25.3399933-05:00
@mystery_man43 - I don't accept you speaking for God.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-13T12:40:06.5126665-05:00
@TBR Well, the Bible IS God's Word. The Bible says that homosexuality is a sin AND that same-sex marriage is wrong. How am I speaking for God? I am simply stating what God has already said.
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T12:41:46.0718665-05:00
Here comes the religious zealot that wants to force Christianity on everyone.
joetheripper117 says2015-07-13T12:45:13.6753912-05:00
@mystery_man43, Since you used your beliefs as an argument for being against gay marriage, I look forward to seeing your proof that a God exists and that he believes as you do.
tajshar2k says2015-07-13T12:46:44.2328107-05:00
Where in the bible, does it say gay's should be banned from marrying?
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T12:47:57.1395674-05:00
@tajshar2k I'm not sure it even stated that anywhere, a bunch of religious fundamentalists just like to be homophobic.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-13T12:50:00.3003368-05:00
@triangle.128k *sigh* How is educating people about Christ's love for us forcing Christianity on anyone? Ultimately, they have the choice whether or not to believe in Jesus.
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T12:50:10.7933961-05:00
@mystery_man43 Even if the bible does say gay marriage is wrong, the bible is NOT the law of the land, the US constitution is.
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T12:50:40.8241661-05:00
You are forcing Christianity upon people, maybe some people don't see Christianity as valid?
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T12:55:19.8040409-05:00
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise..."
mystery_man43 says2015-07-13T12:58:37.4716409-05:00
@triangle.128k "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise..." Are you looking for secular arguments against same-sex "marriage"?
mystery_man43 says2015-07-13T13:09:23.6773741-05:00
@triangle.128k Also, I am not homophobic. Believing in traditional marriage is not called being homophobic. Calling gays derogatory terms, like the WBC does, is an example of homophobia.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-13T13:10:57.8737969-05:00
@tajshar2k The Bible does say that same-sex "marriage" is wrong. Read number 10, "It Offends God. Link: http://www.tfpstudentaction.org/politically-incorrect/homosexuality/10-reasons-why-homosexual-marriage-is-harmful-and-must-be-opposed.html
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T13:14:33.8562939-05:00
God and religion is INVALID against law, the constitution and our founding fathers intended a country with a secular government.
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T13:15:12.5022374-05:00
You are homophobic to some extent if you oppose homosexuals and want to deny them the right to get married.
TBR says2015-07-13T13:15:21.4237009-05:00
@mystery_man43 - I read the same bible, and that's not how I see it. I ask again, who are you to speak for God? You have only shown that you are capable of hubris. God doesn't like that either.
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T13:18:01.7922309-05:00
That link has the same stupid and recycled arguments against gay marriage, religious zealot.
Emilrose says2015-07-13T13:23:31.4506390-05:00
Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. People shouldn't be chastised for *disagreeing* with gay marriage.
triangle.128k says2015-07-13T13:26:14.0841678-05:00
@Emilrose Yeah but many people that disagree have nothing against gays, they also support civil unions. This guy is just a religious zealot shoving christianity down people's throats and being homophobic.
tajshar2k says2015-07-13T13:46:11.9681876-05:00
Bible just saying being gay is wrong. It actually doesn't say gay's shouldn't be allowed to be married.
TBR says2015-07-13T14:02:54.9951031-05:00
@Emilrose - But those that speak for God can chastise vicariously? So, as long as I say it is God doing the damning, its all good. OK, got it.
sara_ann_dee says2015-07-13T16:51:12.8830529-05:00
Haha the comments are EXPLODING with intelligent (well somewhat intelligent) discourse.
OpinionPersom121 says2015-07-13T16:54:17.9783601-05:00
I don't think it is fair to add religion into this because religion is very controversial so I do not think it is a reliable source or reason
sara_ann_dee says2015-07-13T16:55:02.9531601-05:00
@opinionpersom121 agreed
mystery_man43 says2015-07-14T17:33:37.0815737-05:00
@triangle.128k I honestly don't care if you want to call me "homophobic". You can call me anything and that doesn't mean I am that.
triangle.128k says2015-07-14T17:51:13.6311285-05:00
If you're not homophobic, then what do you have against gays getting married?
triangle.128k says2015-07-14T17:51:39.6208951-05:00
You seem to want to impose your religious beliefs upon law, despite the ideals of seperation of church and state.
TBR says2015-07-14T17:53:48.4681925-05:00
@mystery_man43 - You are right. I could call you a follower of Christ's model, but I doubt you are that.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-14T18:49:17.4731615-05:00
@TBR If you choose not to believe in what I'm saying, then that's your choice. If you choose to question my faith in Jesus Christ, then that is your choice. I've said what I've said. I'm going to leave it at that.
TBR says2015-07-14T18:51:35.8589214-05:00
I am saying, you don't think of yourself as a homophobe, I can buy that. You may think of yourself as following the model of Christ, others would disagree, you should similarly accept that.
Varrack says2015-07-14T19:07:55.7194078-05:00
Why is this still an issue. I'm surprised people are still yapping about this.
tajshar2k says2015-07-14T19:09:08.5028081-05:00
I'm wondering the same thing.
triangle.128k says2015-07-14T19:18:49.9750066-05:00
@mystery_man43 That may be his choice but you're seemingly wanting to impose religious beliefs upon law. You've intended that US is a christian nation founded upon christian principles, and you've complained about homosexuality because of your religion.
sara_ann_dee says2015-07-14T19:20:41.0249490-05:00
Uh oh - here comes the big argument haha XD
