  • There is no evidence for the existence of any god or the validity of any religion. You accept this for all other religions except the one you where indoctrinated with. Sure as an atheist I don't have an explanation for everything, but I'd rather be honest and admit that I don't know than pretend I do and be wrong.

  • Yes, some magical wizard popped out of nowhere (literally nowhere) and just played "create-a-world". Praise the imaginary friend.

  • I see where deists are coming from though

  • Atheism is completely illogical. How could this world randomly "pop" into existence without the aid of a supreme being? People need to look at the facts and stop relying on emotions.

  • I respect people for what ever they believe in, and actually enjoy learning about all the different religions and beliefs. Deism is just where I'm at though.

Neither.

Atheism is the only choice that makes sense. If a "supreme being" created the universe, what about the Big Bang? Plus, I've never seen, heard, or felt any "supreme being" ruling this universe. Atheism is based purely on facts (that DEFINITELY exist) while Deism is based on an unstable series of beliefs that may or may not exist. People are relying more on their emotions than what they know to be true and that is destabilizing our world.

@snowfire100 First of all, the Big Bang is scientifically unsound. There are many problems with it, including the fact that it contradicts the first law of thermodynamics, which states that, "matter cannot be created or destroyed". Secondly, atheism isn't based on facts. It's based on the unproven belief that God definitely does not exist.

NewLifeChristian: Some theories state that matter actually can be destroyed to create energy. http://www.iop.org/resources/topic/archive/antimatter/

Why do I feel like half the people voting against deism don't even know what it really is.

Atheism: Universe created from nothing Deism: Universe created by a deity, then left it to run on its own Theism: Universe created by a deity, then continued to intervene in it Thought I'd clarify the definitions.

@PetersSmith Okay, but what about the second law of thermodynamics? The BIg Bang violates that law, too.
