Fully automatic guns should only be used by military and law enforcement personnel.
There is no need for U.S. citizens to have fully automatic machine guns as they serve no practical use. Automatic assault rifles are not used for hunting or shooting sports and could be a risk to others.
American taxpayers pay roughly $12.8 million every day to cover the costs of gun-related deaths and injuries— and that is a conservative estimate. Thats $229 Billion a year or $700 each.
We should be able to protect ourselves. If you know how to use a gun, you don't have to be scared of it. Same thing with cars.
I disagree. Before the 1986 full auto ban (didn't COMPLETELY ban full autos, just prevented the production of any new ones) there were no issues with full autos on the street. I'm actually pretty satisfied with the tougher background checks and tax stamp to receive a full auto. If you are PROVEN to be a law abiding citizen and mentally sane, you shouldn't be prohibited from owning a full auto. (perhaps if you have a full auto, maybe you should be required to have it stored in a gun safe)
I like my dakka. Leave it alone.
AR 15 can be fire almost as fast as an automatic weapon so yeah this law is useless
I believe that as long as you are trained, a gun is perfectly safe. many people I know have hunted/shot guns their whole life, and I only know one that has had an accident with a discharge
They are less dangerous than semi auto weapons. If you shoot one like people are so afraid you will, 1, you will run out of ammo in 3 seconds, 2, most of your shots will be so wildly off target, you might as well be shooting blanks. All the ban does is bring up the price on an m16 from $2000 to $15-20,000.
ITS OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT
