politicians are so old anyways that they probably would die or get assassinated if they somehow even got elected more than twice. (This is satire for those of you who didnt pick up on that)
What I do like about the Western system of democracy - and yes, I do recognise its merits, although I don't see it as a 'universal value' or the only means of pursuing its desired goal - is that a government that have lost the mandate of heaven through causing discontent among the populace can be peacefully replaced with one that gains it. The change in the question essentially renders this advantage non-existent.
Especially not with this failure in office.
