DDO application.

This is to get DDO's attention to tell them whether or not their debaters want an app or not.

  • Apps are expensive and too vertical. A proper mobile HTML5 interface would be nice, but not an "app"

  • I think it'd be kinda useless

I've thought about this, but I'm a little torn on if I would use it or not. I would like the convenience of an app, but in many of my posts/responses are fairly verbose and typing them out is infinitely easier on a computer than it would be on my phone.

@Krampus If you were on the bus or train, it would be very convenient to use the app because most of the time, people don't bring laptops to public transportation.

Just use the Internet browser on your mobile device.

It's not exactly user friendly though.

To be clear, and seeing as my post to the comments seems to have gone into the "review" file. This thread should include what you are asking for in features. As I said above, "app" means something. If we are asking for an app, I would say no. If everyone is looking for a mobile version of the site then I am behind it. Now, what is expected of it? What features? Just formatting?

Lets say that the initial development of the mobile version of the "debate" section costs ~8k if all we are asking for is formatting. If the request is for an app then start from scratch writing (for multi-platforms), in icky languages like obj-c, push the development cycle out like 6-10 months and double the costs for just ONE platform.
