Do Constitutions cause more harm for a countries development?

  • A constitution with simple rights the government must obey would do more good than harm. It would also prevent the government from disobeying it's original roots. For example, a secular country could turn into a theocracy. If a constitution isn't favorable, there should be a revolution to change the country.

  • A constitution is a body of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is acknowledged to be governed. In short hand, its the rule book. You can't have proper development without some rules to go by.

  • Sometimes though if there are loopholes allowing a generation or two to completely bastardize it with amendments, then yes it actually causes more problems than it fixes. On top of that ... only ones that stand for natural rights are worth having since any one Constitution omitting them will just have people striving for them. They are the 3 things all people should be able to agree on.
