Do you believe in the Worker Councils recieving equity

Posted by: ChosenWolff

Probably a lesser known proposal, and one that will likely never take place, but the Soviets had worker councils that had a say in corporate affairs. Modern economists call this unrealistic, but many advocate for the worker collective receiving a mandatory 10% of shares in their company.

  • Yes, the workers and their company should be financially tied

  • No, workers shouldn't be entitled to any shares in their company

  • I honestly like this. Basically, the idea is to make workers and corporations into one unit, by forcing all corporations of a certain size, to relinquish a mandatory 10% share to be given to an elected workers council. I think if this were to take place, it would have to be for large scale corporations.
