I don't think that it would and most likely lower those numbers, as someone could pay a cheap amount compared to raping someone and end up in jail, and most likely the ones buying these slaves have money so it would give them a way to get some fun at a cheaper price and with different people. If it is legalized I think that it should be government run with anyone able to be a prostitute (over the age of 18 of course). This way that the prostitutes can have a place to do their work safely and have medicinal help (such as frequent STD and STI screenings, in case of any abuse with a patient they could quickly seek help). Prostitution will never die, it is one of the few things that has been around since recorded history and arguably one of the things that has helped shaped some first world cities today. Legalizing it only seems to benefit everyone.

@brinzahar Criminalizing prostitution directly discriminate against women since only women are the one in most case being caught by police while male client could easily walk free.
