  • Pretty much non existent in the US, but with the minority populations increasing, even when whites are 10% of the population and have very little power, you'll still hear about how whites are holding people down.

  • However, race relations have seemed to worsen due to social justice movements, such as the Hypocritical "Black Lives Matter" movement.

  • YES drastically. All around me in my life I have seen racism but I have seen MORE equality. It seems to me that the people screaming "black lives matter" need to step back and look at all the black lives taking black lives because they don't have the color red, blue, or whatever color these gangs wear nowadays. Its embarrassing to us other Americans.

  • Not really, perhaps in the young but the older generation still dislike people outside their racial group alot. I know many old white folk who would not let a black man provide personal care but be fine with a white man.

Don't know. As a white man I never suffered from racism and still don't.

I have, but it's no skin off my back. I grew up in predominately black areas at certain points in my childhood. Whenever you're a minority somewhere you will catch crap for whatever that minority thing is, but that's just human nature.

I have as well, I was denied a school application once even though my credentials more than exceeded their requirements. Three friends of mine from college applied to the same program I did at the same time, two of which were black and one of which was Hispanic. All three of them scored lower on the required test for the field and also had lower graduating GPA's than me, yet all three of them got accepted into the program. I simply got a letter saying that, though I did meet the requirements, they could not accept me into the program. An Asian friend of mine actually never checks the boxes that identify race, and that seemed to have worked out well for her.

Sure. No doubt about it! The most recent spasms are a GOOD sign. One that another radical change is coming. The 60's did NOT come without turmoil. Emancipation was... Well we all know. Point being. Large social change happens with resistance.

Depends on the time frame, racism has certainly gone down in the last 100 years, but I haven't seen any noticeable difference since I was a kid (80's and 90's).

@Gustav_Adolf_II - We are in about the same age range. I agree that only incremental changes have happened in this time frame. The cycle is due to... Well, we are due for radical change.

Among liberals yes, among conservatives hell no. I know this from experience.
Wylted says2015-04-10T07:50:45.5934215-05:00
Brian, your ridiculous. It's the liberals who are racist. They kill 50% of black babies before they are born by legalizing abortion, they raise the minimum wage which has no effect on white unemployment , but has been shown to have a negative impact on black unemployment, they make black people dependent on the government with handouts, and this encourage more single parent homes, they demand lighter policing in minority areas, because they could care less about the safety of blacks, and they think black people are too stupid to get into college or get a job on their own so they set quotas. A non racist person doesn't even think about race when they see for example that a disproportionate amount of white people play baseball, but the liberal mind is so racist that it sees race everywhere and when they look at a baseball team they think that blacks are being discriminated against in baseball. To a non racist, that sort of thought wouldn't even have crossed their mind.

I call both racist.
hammycakes says2015-04-10T14:48:51.8412277-05:00
All races are racist. A place of employment: if a black person gets disciplined; I see them pull the race card out "its because I am black". Then I hear a white person talking about an incident that happened during his/her day and the "N" word is thrown out there just like it was an normal ole' noun. The world is never going to be completely free of racism, period.
