@Mikal:I think it is would help us to progress more if we come to an understanding. We should understand there is no overwhelming evidence that God(s) do or do not exist. Anyone who claims to have a belief that God does or does not exist is basing their belief on an assumption. To believe in an assumption is an unnecessary action to progress.

No one can claim he does or does not exist. It is arguing a negative. You can only make a rational decision using rational and empirical evidence. All of that points to the fact that there is probably not a God.

@Mikal; possibly is different than probably.

I am well aware. There is no conclusive evidence to support a God, which is why there is probably not one. If there is no empirical evidence to support a theory, it is probably wrong or there has been no evidence yet found to support it. The only issue with that is, that God has been a theory for thousands and thousands of years. If there were some conclusive evidence to show that he probably does exist, it would have been found. The only thing that is offered are fallacious arguments from the base up like the KCA.

@Mikal, the fact that our universe exists is proof enough to many many many people. For the reason I explained above. I'm sorry you don't realize how the possibility is actually 50/50 but it really is.
Mikal says2013-09-14T20:57:52.4561405-05:00
There are multiples theories back with conclusive evidence to show how the universe formed without the need of a God. If you want to challenge someone on the subject send a request to sargon. He is always taking debates along that line. I would take it myself but I have 10 debates in my poll atm. There are multiples reasons as to how and why the universe does not need a God and that it could create itself.

50/50? That's pretty laughable. Since there isn't a shred of evidence for any gods, this is in no way a 50/50 proposition. Claiming the fact that the universe exists proves a god is so ludicrously fallacious as to be dismissible. If that convinces many, many, many people, I fear for the intelligence level of our society. It's a massive Argument from Ignorance- we don't get how we got here, therefore magic!

And planets coming from an explosion (which came out of nowhere) isn't counted as "magic"?
Mikal says2013-09-14T21:07:32.5973956-05:00
In science it is reasonable to assume. Read a universe from nothing, it breaks it down point by point.
PatriotPerson says2013-09-14T21:13:04.8547148-05:00
Alright, I guess. I still believe in God, though.
Humanbeing says2013-09-14T22:23:08.9680043-05:00
But if God does exist, then science was created by him and thus that still isnt enough to prove his existence
Skeptikitten says2013-09-15T12:55:03.7078637-05:00
We can see how planets form via accretion and gravity. There is evidence for it. And the Big Bang wasn't an explosion. Perhaps before trying to debunk established science you should learn what it actually says.
Humanbeing says2013-09-15T14:36:01.0575004-05:00
Here comes a typical agnostic or atheist to talk down on my beliefs, maybe you should learn some manners instead of commenting rudely expecting everyone to believe what you have to see just cause you believe so
