Do you think the Middle-East would have been peaceful without American military intervention?

  • Yes, the middle east would have been perfectly fine, without American intervention

  • No, the middle east would have been just as violent, or even worse.

  • Generally I think the war would have put villages, etc in danger and they would have have to eat small amounts of food, etc, but maybe if the Americans didn't come they would have lived peacefully.

  • Without all of the invasions into middle eastern nations like Iraq the middle east would have far less terrorists to deal with.

  • All we need to do is fry the place so hard the worms choke on the dust. There, it's definitely peaceful now.

  • Other than maybe Iran, I say it wouldn't have made a difference

  • That part of the world was on fire long before we got there.

  • We really dont know, It could be more peaceful or more violent.

  • The region has been a battleground for thousands of years and it's not like the Shiites and Sunnis would love each other if America never intervened, they've quarreled since Muhammad died. Maybe the sand and heat makes people grumpy.

"I am Hect. And I see a whole army of my Users, here in defiance of tyranny! You have come to fight as free men. And free man you are! What will you do without freedom? Will you fight?" "Two thousand against ten?" - imabench shouted. "No! We will run - and live!" "Yes!" Hect shouted back. "Fight and you may be banned. Run and you will live at least awhile. And leaving the site in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young users and tell our censoring enemies that they may ban our accounts but they will never take our freedom!!!"

A lot more peaceful than it. No Israeli state would probably make a *big* difference is. The Middle East needs to be nurtured, and not in the form of invasion and military conflict.

This poll is maybe a little biased. "Perfectly fine" would be more appropriately termed as "better" or more peaceful.

Even with that, I strongly disagree the middle east would still be the same. The only difference would be instead of American troops shooting terrorists and sometimes civilians, guys like Saddam Hussein would be killing people. Then muslims will condemn us for "not" stepping in.

I agree with tajshar2k. Not "better" or "worse", just no us (US). Time for us to get the he11 out! ALL OUT.

@TBR That didn't end well when we left Iraq. Can you imagine what would happen if suddenly left all our operations in the middle east with no one to fill the power gap that we leave.
tajshar2k says2015-06-16T09:21:22.7047224-05:00
Its not our problem anymore. They want us to leave, so lets leave.
58539672 says2015-06-16T09:40:29.9284066-05:00
If we leave, a massive power gap will be left in the middle east that the governments there may not be ready to fill. Iraq was proof of that. If we leave in the current state of affairs, the middle east would be more violent because of it.
tajshar2k says2015-06-16T09:42:17.5616538-05:00
But thats not our problem anymore. They want us to leave. So, let them deal with it. WHy spend tax dollars on middle east, when you can spend that in our country to help Americans?
58539672 says2015-06-16T11:07:28.4383380-05:00
It is our responsibility. We went into the middle east and established our dominance over the whole region, therefore the whole region is our responsibility to protect until we give it to someone else. Giving it to those who are unprepared to maintain it would be negligence on our part. Also the Iraqi government was very hesitant about the US withdraw. Maliki wanted a strong enough US presence to remain in the country should things go terribly wrong. In fact most middle eastern governments don't want the US to leave at the moment. The ones that want the US to leave are the uninformed public and terror groups.
