That depends; do they worship Satan or do they use him as the ideal example of a rebel against God?
They worship Satan and the values of Satanism, which is basically unconditional freedom as long as it doesn't harm anyone, and than revenge and hurt after death.
Then theres atheistic satanism
Which Satanism? Anti-Christianity or human based satanism?
Yes both theist and atheistic Satanism are considered religions. It doesn't matter if you agree or don't agree with it, whether they believe in a God(s) or Goddess(es); that's irreverent to the actual definition of a religion. Buddhism, for an example, we don't believe in any deity, but it is still accepted as a religion.
Is satanism organized though? Unorganized religion is classified as a cult.
@SNP1, human based AND anti-Christian.
Also, I think you would like this debate that im in.

I haven't finished it, but if you'd like to PM me with some advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
@jifpo09, its organized.
That is rather irreverent when cults are religion defined as "a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object."
It is organized in some cases but many just worship it privately.
Well, the thing with Satanism is, when I type it in without a capital S, it capitalizes it for me, so its pretty well known, but I still consider it a cult.
I don't know, if you worship Satan , how can you be atheist? Aren't atheist non-believers of ANYTHING?
Oh I'm not Satanist. I'm a full on Atheist. I just have a Satanist friend and was curious about general viewpoints on this topic.
@howardzinn
i'm satanic atheist.... I don't really believe in god or devil(s) or anything, but i thought being satanic would be nice so i decided to convert, like two days ago, but i'm still kinda stuck on my atheist ways, so that's why i added an atheist after the satanic label
Angel that is very interesting, let me know if you decide to commit.
