Does a lack of sex over a long period of time mentally damage you?Posted by: Zylorarchy
As for how long is a long period. It is quite general to be honest, what constitutes a long time would be quite different for someone who is used to an active sex life, to someone who is 30 and a virgin. So really what constitutes a "long period" is subjective, but to me, a long period would be over two years.
I cannot argue this for certain, and really this poll is about your own personal views. But I would say yes, that a long period of no sex could eventually result in lower self esteem/feelings of being unwanted and loneliness. But then again, if someone chooses this, who really knows...
If you find yourself asking this question on a debate site, im going to go with yes
Why would it? It is the act of reproducing sexually. There is nothing about it that will damage anyone mentally in any way.
If it did there would be a ton of mentally damaged people out there by shear force of will. A lot of people choose celibacy and/or just don't have the right person in their life at the moment or for a long period of time. Sex can be wonderful in a relationship, but in the long term, the relationship itself will outlast the physical.
Well it's a good thing I've got a brain in only one head and not two.
