  • Its a plant with enormous health and enjoyment benefits. Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps, two of the greatest living athletes have admitted using weed for relaxation purposes. Also several sources have suggested that cannabis kills cancer cells. Alcohol and Smoking are ten times more dangerous and addictive than weed. It remains a mystery why they are legal but weed is not.

  • Many medical studies have proven that it is a helpful plant for many ailments or just to make you feel good

  • It can, but nowhere near the amount of damage other drugs can cause.

  • It can make you go loco

  • It causes significant harm, just in most cases the harm is non-lethal. Marijuana can increase symptoms of mania, change brain structure, permanently reduce long term memory, it is addictive, it increases impulsive behavior (gate way drug), it is an immunosuppressant, and its second hand smoke is equivalent harm to tobacco. It causes significant harm.

  • Just because it has benefits doesn't mean it doesn't have drawbacks, LOL. Just because it doesn't kill doesn't mean it won't harm you physically or psychologically (since you have a tendency to escape from real life by using drugs).

  • Yes, but no more than tobacco or alcohol. Its not as dangerous as some would claim.

  • Screw marijuana, if you take it then you hate America and god.

  • It may cause harm, but that doesn't mean it's completely harmful. It's not harmless but nearly anything can cause harm.

  • I smoke it, and the cough alone shows it isn't good for you

Its a trap! You can't be intellectual honesty and say "no". Anything can harm. Among harmful things, marijuana is very low on the list. Down with the pen on my desk, the coffee I am drinking, but below the cigarette I may smoke later.

But if weed is legal, so should alcohol and cigarettes! Its a conspiracy!!!!

"Its a trap! You can't be intellectual honesty and say "no". Anything can harm. Among harmful things, marijuana is very low on the list. Dillydol you're arguments have no basis. Drinking a shot of tequila is much more harmful than a smoke of pot.

Even Obama smoked pot

"Drinking a shot of tequila is much more harmful than a smoke of pot." The tequila doesn't have second hand smoke or third hand smoke.

@Mathgeekjoe - No, it will end with the same results, and same comments. There are better drugs than marijuana, and marijuana is not flawless. Regardless, it is just not a real worry. Not nearly enough to deal with through a legal system.

Oh, TBR, I just noticed your alcohol poll. It was hilarious in the comments.

Mathgeekjoe - I enjoyed my martinis very much, in spite of controversy.

Chocolate is technically poisonous.

"Even Obama smoked pot'' What do you mean 'even'? I don't think there was a doubt in anyone mind that he smokes pot. Haha
Knightrius says2015-04-21T05:15:19.5543722-05:00
@FreedomBeforeEquality: You say that as if smoking pot is something disgusting and revolting.
Mathgeekjoe says2015-04-21T06:31:05.4807895-05:00
Well smoking pot is disgusting and revolting.
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-04-21T08:39:37.4284194-05:00
It is pretty bad.
Knightrius says2015-04-21T09:31:04.4688014-05:00
And alcohol is fine?
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-04-21T13:09:39.3977058-05:00
No, we made a mistake there too. But that one became too popular to ever go back to controlling it. Luckily its heavily regulated. It's got age limits, there are fixed amounts of liquor licenses per state (not just any joe shmo can sell it), not just any jo shmo can make it for that matter ... Shining is still illegal. People cant drink in the streets, they dont intoxicate others through personal use, etc etc. Its being handled much much better than legalized pot is. Thats the bare bones truth to all of this.
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-04-21T13:14:16.4710819-05:00
No one is under the spell of mistaking alcohol as a form of medicine either, despite its relaxing properties. No ones trying to be prescribed scotch by their doctor through medicaid. People are generally educated about the risks of drinking and laws are in place to ensure they are held accountable when they mess up while intoxicated. Can't say the same for weed.
