If you mean, "Does the life and limb of the mother come before the unborn child?" My answer is yes if the mother chooses that view. All human beings have the right of self preservation.
@ SweetTea, does it honestly matter if there are other minors in the picture or not? A woman's life should be precious enough on it's own.
Venusara ... I think you misunderstood my post. What I meant was this ... If a woman has a complicated pregnancy & no other children, she may feel the desire to risk her life for that unborn baby. The desire for a child can be a great motivation. However, if she has a couple of children at home, she has to consider that risking her life could rob them of a mother that they need. It becomes an entirely different equation. Some women, given their faith and/or abortion position, might prefer to risk their life instead of the unborn's. There is no generic, simple answer that fits every situation.
