  • the french revolution laid the groundwork for both the modern dictator and the cult of personality, while also laying the groundwork for true freedom of the masses. this is what makes it so double sided and interesting. the american revolution consolidated the unofficial aristocracy.

  • Because Murica!

  • The french revolution was bloody, inhumane, and whatever concepts derived from it were crushed by Napoleons rise to power.

  • Because it culminated in a bloodbath of non-combatants, and failed in the end with the rise of Napoleon and the later return of the Bourbons.

  • The French Revolution was godless and bloody. It destroyed more of Paris than WWII did! The American Revolution was not searching for blood, and made peace as soon as possible. I could go on and on about this topic...

  • American revolution came first and helped inspire the French one. Also, 'Murica!

The French Revolution had Napoleon immediately after, so I would argue that they didn't really achieve it.

The French Revolution could be argued both ways, It did lead to the end of the feudal structure, and the Napoleon code, which completely changed French culture.

The Napoleon Code was one of the most influential set of civil laws in history.

Why did the French people accept a dictator when they wanted freedom? Because the country was in a mess after the revolution he showed to be a strong leader and at the time they needed one. So Napoleon was made emperor of France.

The french revolution was believed to be influenced by the American revolution. A nice, short, non bloody war. At least that's what we're taught in history class.
