Some of it

A functional society is a balance between security and freedom. Laws need to be in place, but these laws can of course change for the better (or worse) over time. Despite the fact we don't like having our freedom taken away, it's better than anarchy.

The government doesn't need to take away many freedoms in order to make us feel safe. It doesn't need to watch our every movements and we don't need officers walking around with assault rifles and oppressing us. The government will be much weaker, b... ut we will be much stronger   more

It seems we are currently living in a world full of people that deserve neither freedom not safety. We can take care of ourselves and we don't need someone else telling us what to do. Survival of the fittest in its finest form.

Most of it

A functional society requires many laws that obviously take away many freedoms. However, the government must take extra steps to ensure that security is above all the most important aspect and freedom can always be lost and gained.

Statism is the only reason why anyone feels the need to relinquish their freedom for security. Statism prevents cooperation. It is a method of control.
