In a democracy it is essential to have voting, without it the US would not be a democracy, which is our core.

Debater, the ability to vote can be revoked. Google "felony disenfranchisement." On top of that, residents of several American territories are unable to participate in presidential elections. Not to mention, anybody under the age of 18 is restricted from voting

People under the age of 18 shouldn't be allowed to vote. They're brains are still developing, and in all honesty, the general teenage population doesn't care about politics.

Komodo, I agree. But I'm not asking what it should be, I'm asking what it is.

Midnight, I'm not saying that I agree or disagree. But, you've demonstrated my point—the ability to vote is not granted to everyone, but a select demographic.

Wow, Communist! It's like you're reading directly from a high school history book.

Actually since i'm a national socialist which is ideologically facist I support beneficial dictatorship over democracy so i do not support voting rights

Heil, you are still capable of answering this question
CommunistDog says2015-04-11T23:03:50.0922665-05:00
We, the people of America, have been given this right by the government; entrusted with the responsibility to vote for whomever we feel will improve the nation. This privilege is earned after years of living in America or being a citizen since birth. It can be revoked because of certain felonies.
minnymilerza says2015-04-11T23:04:20.5272812-05:00
Yes, Communist, you've made your point!

But then i feel it's neither a right nor a privilege and should be gotten rid of
minnymilerza says2015-04-11T23:30:24.9518462-05:00
Heil, I'm not asking what you want it to be. I'm asking what it is.

I guess the Constitution makes it a right but in practice it's a priviledge.
