Is a lot of college advice (i.E. Tips for socializing, loan advice) from college "experts" bullcrap and/or contradictory?

Biggest crap out there ........... The College Review! It gives the impression that the #1 schools are ideal matches for students. In reality (just think about it), no school has the capability to be ideal for every student (not even the gifted ones)! They also do not do enough data gathering with regard to crime, violent hazing, etc. on campus. My best advice, as a former student & mother ......... Ignore the review, what your friends think, etc. Use your gut instinct. If a campus feels like a good fit, it probably will be. If you are comfortable on a tour, you'll probably be comfortable living there. If it doesn't feel right, or look right, it probably isn't (I don't care what it's rated)!

One last bit of advice ............ If ANYTHING about college matriculation cannot be photographed or videoed, ask yourself: What are they hiding?
