Depends on the atheist. And I also can't add a comment.

Just because an athiest happens to have a moral value that also happens to exist in a religion doesnt mean the athiest took their value from that religion. Also, if they did. Who cares?

Atheism itself isn't really related to moral values. Atheists can pick and choose moral values, but atheism doesn't. It's just the belief that God doesn't exist.

I would not think of it that way, but still not care if someone wanted to frame it that way.

In atheism people don't even have to have any moral values.

@OP Could you please give specific examples to give better context to the poll question? As it stands, the only way to answer this question is with 100% speculation; there are no facts to base a decision on. Thanks ben671176

I have to say yes to this only for the sheer fact that people are inherently evil and it is in their nature to pick and choose based on what benefits themselves. Moral values arent a logical conclusion you come to without some religion sprinkled in there. Atheists 'can' be immoral if they wish ... But most dont choose to be and that is both attributed to whats been established by society (coincidentally by religious beliefs) and by the fact that to be able to live in said society they find themselves at an advantage if they follow the moral beliefs of the people in it.

Someone who is not exposed to religion or mythology would not be immoral by default; therefore, I say that is not the only source of morals atheists have. The other thing I would like to point out is that atheists only share a disbelief in a god, not morals or principal values as an entire group.

@FreedomBeforeEquality That's complete stupidity. Like all matter, Humans react from consequences. We're neither inherently evil nor good. You know? Survival of the fittest (the best to adapt to oneself/environment.)

Simply because Athiests share some moral values with a religion does not make them inherently religious. Its a "what came first the ethic or the rule?" idea
