  • I think it's up to the person who decides if he wants to die or not.

  • only if the individual is unable to kill themself, and is in alot of pain and suffering that pain medication wont ease, no treatments available, and no chance of recovery.

  • If someone is dying of emphysema or cancer a slow painful, agonizing death is not humane. People should have the choice.

  • Euthanasia is right because the person (or animal) that is suffering shouldn't have to suffer more. It is quick and painless, better than having the person die slowly and painfully

  • No, we should be allowed the freedom to access the means to end our lives by our hands *only*. We shouldn't rely on others to end our lives.

And only if the individual didnt say they didnt want to be uthanized.

Similar to the opting into organ donation, people could opt into and opt out of uthanization. Potentially put all uthanizations under 24-7live public surveilence and careful to make sure no 1 is being uthanizated who shuldnt be.

I consider ethanasia or the right to die as very beneficial matter for really terminally ill people. They should have the right to make the decision, whether they want or do not want to die. Many of them suffer from unbearable pains or they are kept into a coma. Besides to that, I believe that ethanasia could be very good and merciful for the family of the patients, because they can finaly close the sorrowful period of their lifes.

Euthanasia is absolutely right . Why should humans suffer from terminal illness and pain . It's cruel not to allow them to make their own decisions . I think everyone who disagrees obviously hasn't watched a love one die in agony because if you had your mind would be changed if not you have serious issues !
skyeeschafer says2014-03-23T21:04:09.3065962-05:00
Doctors should allow euthanasia. Due to the fact that a terminally ill person, is suffering. Suffering is a painful way to live out the rest of someones life. For the patient, euthanasia is the only option. Not being able to take care of themselves could be humiliating for the patient. Having nurses, or family members, look after them, help them go to the toilet, and feed them. There are many economical problems with euthanasia, keeping a patient alive can cost up to $450, a day. This puts massive amounts of stress, on the families, and the government. People that are going to die anyway, should be able to have a death peacefully, after all it's their life, not yours.

Human right consists of the right to live and the right to die. As long as every individual consider that if they die will be better than to live, so why not? Since every individual has the ability to measure their own conditions, why we(outsiders) need to interfere? Use your logic!
merin.francis says2014-04-11T14:33:26.6850103-05:00
I soley believe euthanasia is not correct because if we have no right to take away the life of another then it is also wrong take away our own life. Our body knows when it needs to stop functioning because it has its own lifespan and we should not intervene with that!

I get the religious point of view. However, I do feel sorry for anyone who doesn't want to live any longer. If you want to die, just kill yourself, sadly people do it everyday for various reasons. Why make such a huge political statement about it. No one should have to "help" you die, you should not visit your desires on someone who would like to live (without going to prison). I think you should have the right to take your own life, however, I don't think that you should involve anyone else (be it assisted suicide or jumping in front of a bus). I am not sure how the insurance should work in this particular situation, will it raise costs for people not wanting to kill themselves, will people start to kill themselves to leave money behind for struggling family. When will the issue stop, will it be only the terminally ill, what about the mentally ill, the depressed, how young is too young (will a 13 year old who are being bullied get the right to "die with dignity" as well), will the college campus rape victim get a standing ovation for taking her life. Who decides if a 16 year old has a terminal illness, what about an 8 year old who wants to die but the parents want them to live? It think if you live or die it should be your choice, but it does baffle me that one person will want to fight to the bitter end to beat the odds and defy medicine while another person thinks, I'll just beat death to it. This 29 year old young lady who plans on taking her life on November 1, 2014 in Oregon, I wonder if she's thought about if there is a cure discovered 10 days later? There are people living that are medical miracles and to those people I applaud you, for looking those medical professionals and specialists in the eye and saying "watch me beat this"! This is what should be celebrated, the precious gift of life!!!

In my opinion i think people should have the choice to end there life's even if its not by your own hand its still your choice.

Euthanasia though it does create an environment where in people can easily give up and go for the easier option but it is a must for those people who are suffering form terminal disease and are at a stage where they can no longer be called alive but are just a piece of meat held together with machines and hopes. Moreover though it is the responsibility of the state not to create an environment which promotes the people to take the easy way out but giving a man a say in his life is also their responsibility after all its his life ,his say. Thus i conclude by saying euthanasia should be made legal but with some riders

People should have the choice, decision on whether they want to die slowly or get euthanasia. If the person is suffering from the illness that they have they should be able to decide weather or not they want to live longer or just take medication.

Because of the great advances in palliative care, virtually any kind of pain can be eliminated. If a person is suffering unbearable pain, they are not being given the medicine that they should be. Also, suffering is not the ultimate evil in the world, there is good that can come out of it.

If someone is in that much pain, then I think the person dying should have the choice and if they are under 18, both the parents and the child should have the choice because most children would just wanna die

In my opinion, no man should take their own life. God giveth and He taketh, Everyone saying that he or she died peacefully. No one knows, I never heard anyone said the dead told them what it's like beyond the grave

Life is like a quagmire, the more we trample , the more we get into it. That is all about. We have to survive, surviving in any atmosphere. That gives us a strength. Tolerating, tolerating, tolerating. Now if we bcome intolerant and choose to die voluntarily, the day will come , which will be the doom day for all of us. We choose to die even in simple problem we face daily. We will give hope to our posterity by surviving even in a worst condition, taught them to respect life. Euthanasia must be banned strictly, it is inhumane.

Euthanasia is perfectly right, every one gets the right to end their own life anytime they want if there in a lot of pain. For those people who dont think euthanasia is right they are wrong. They might feel strongly about but they cant tell some one that they cant end their life.Lets put it this way lets say you are in so much pain will you want to end your life.

I think that Euthanasia is right and that it should be legalised but to people who really wants it and people who are terminally ill. If people are just taking Euthanasia because they just want to die, then they should not be able to take Euthanasia. Of course, I think that the government should be bring out something called hospice care, and give people psychological treatment and consulting whether the patient really wants it.

If the person says that they want to be euthanised then that is their decision and is not for us to judge.

I think Euthanasia is right, if a person is terminally ill and dying slowly. Shouldn't we be able to give them the choice of ending their suffering, we do it with our pets. Why can't we give ourselves the same decision?
Person18 says2017-05-20T10:25:16.1020728Z
Euthanasia is murder on all fronts. The job of a doctor is to help someone, NOT to convince them to die!
