By "valid argument" I took it as meaning a legitimate & serious gender equality movement like they claim to be. & "Is feminism valid in modern society" feminism was never valid in modern or historic society; it was always a pseudo gender equality movement embedded greater amounts of sexism into the society's social mores, folkways & norms.
Feminism itself is based on the idea that there is an established patriarchy in society, but there isn't. Yeah, sure maybe in countries like Saudi Arabia where women are treated like property, but in most Western nations, both men and women face their own particular challenges, not just women. For example, women get paid a few cents less than men, but at least they don't have to be drafted to fight in a war and die. So yeah, feminism is nonsense and is irrelevant in modern society.
@discomfiting There's no need to call people morons here. I just believe that feminism is a movement that can target many of the issues women face today (such as rape, abortion bans, equal pay, female circumcision, etc.) and progress female standing within society. However, I honestly don't like some of the extremists in the feminist movement, since they make the most noise and cause the entire movement to look extremist.
Feminists that complain about first-world problems and make ridiculous claims like getting PTSD from twitter are only harming society, but it definitly has its uses in real patriarchies like the middle east.
But is NOT gender equality. Fight to stop sexism against women, rape against women and helping only women is not gender equality. That ignore sexism against males and third genders like intersex and if you want to get in-depth transgenders.
