  • The scientific consensus is that climate change is man made. The evidence is simply overwhelming.

  • Obviously, it's man made. By releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, we're trapping heat from the sun which is warming our planet. This is known as the "greenhouse effect." We're also contributing to global warming by allowing massive swaths of the rain forests to be destroyed and allowing industrial processes to run under-regulated. Last July was the hottest July on record. We contributed to that. By the end of the century, it's estimated the Middle East may be uninhabitable. We need to treat global warming as a WWII level threat, and stop putting profits over our very survival. Otherwise, we will have wars over water, and we will have a refugee crisis the likes which would make the current crisis look like a "warm-up" phase. https://www3.epa.gov/climatechange/basics/ ─Basic information you should learn in High School. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/july-2016-hottest-month_us_57b219b4e4b007c36e4fb557

  • Industrializing the world is a major cause of the problem

  • The temperature of the earth skyrocketed since the Industrial Revolution. That's because of the greenhouse gasses such as CO2 have been released in large quantities since then. This is all our fault.

  • It's caused by the sun, you know, that huge ball of fire in the sky that global warming mongers claim has no affect on the global temperature.

  • I chose this side because of this debate: http://www.Debate.Org/debates/Manmade-global-climate-change-is-real-and-a-threat./8/

  • Yes and no but I will say no overall. Climate change is a natural occurrence, but I think with what man is doing today is speeding up climate change but it's not something new that is happening because of humans.

People in Con make scientists cry.

Harrytruman's argument is a straw man that ignores science

@Axonly, You mean the few scientists that promote AGW and refuse debating the issue?
Axonly says2016-08-19T06:57:47.1083304Z
Yep, 97% of scientists.
Heterodox says2016-08-19T07:53:23.5912923Z
@Axonly, That number has been thoroughly debunked.

It was very clear to show that man has done everything to cause global warming.Man use fossil fuels to move the transportation.Man has also built a lot of factories which release carbon dioxide.Man cut down the trees and burn the forests.Carbon dioxide cannot be absorbed. It causes the heat cannot be released to the outer space.
Heterodox says2016-08-19T09:13:09.0925194Z
@qiquan.Ong What was very clear to show that?
Axonly says2016-08-19T11:02:57.4580163Z
Yeah, for some reason global warming deniers throw a fit when it's mentioned. Seriously, you guys are dumb.
Axonly says2016-08-19T12:59:44.5016287Z
"Dumb" is a bit harsh, sorry about that.
Heterodox says2016-08-19T13:21:13.3496952Z
@Axonly, Hmm, all of the models saying AGW is a thing have been proven wrong / inaccurate. Wouldn't that make those that still think AGW is an issue the deniers?

@Heterodox When was it debunked?
Heterodox says2016-08-19T18:36:37.4983327Z
@BrendanD19 I imagine as soon as the paper was released, in 2013. Here's a link: http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/8/2/024024/meta ||You'll note that it says right in its own abstract that it's 97.1% of the 33.6% paper abstracts (not even scientists, just papers) they viewed as having a position. So, not only is it not 97% of scientists, it's papers, but it's also only including papers with "global warming" in the title and their basing the papers position off of its abstract. In other words, it's bullshit, but don't take my word for it: https://twitter.com/RichardTol/status/337126632080957441
Heterodox says2016-08-19T18:39:25.0143541Z
*papers with "global warming" or "global climate change" in the title.
Heterodox says2016-08-19T18:42:10.7831419Z
*In other words, it's like they went into an Adele concert and asked the people if they liked Adele. And used those results as if they were a reflection of everyone's opinion. It's BS.

I cannot give an honest answer by voting for either of those. Global warming is natural. It's happening and is going to continue. However, man is speeding it up.

Much like white privilege, both are non existent.
