@Bettabreeder - It does not say the phrase "Under God" once in the US Constitution. Or even "God." However, it does say: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion," which is the first clause of the First Amendment.
And that is what the government is doing, interfering with God's teachings!
Spin it however you want, but taking away a person's rights based on your religious beliefs is unconstitutional, as it "respects an establishment of religion," which the United States Constitution clearly forbids the government to do.
Bettabreeder, god does not tell us to persecute homosexuals. He actually teaches us not to be his advocate or judge. I think its you who needs to review gods teachings.
What ever happened to the pursuit of happiness? If a person wants to have a gay marriage, god bless. People need to stay out of other people's lives, it is non of their business. People need to keep " God" and all the other silly beliefs out of government, politics, and other people's lives.
Actually, Bettabreeder has a point. I'm, in fact, a very traditional Christian, and I think we should ban eating meat on Fridays. Also, we should legalize polygamy. The government has to, or it's interfering with my beliefs! (In case nobody noticed, I was being sarcastic to make a point.)
You gain noting by calling other peoples beliefs silly. The key to changing people like Betta breeders mind, is to turn their own logic against him. And from most educated theologians studies, they have concluded that it is not our business to force others to follow gods way. By banning homosexuality, we are practically telling people you can't be who you are, because then you wouldn't get into heaven, and its our job to make sure you get their. God warned in the bible, that only he has the right to give entrance into heaven, and if you tell someone where or where not they might go, then you will go to hell. So by that reasoning alone, people like bettabreeder are doing god no service by restricting homosexual rights.
*nothing
Anyways, I'm starting a poll revolution. To take DDO out of the dark ages, I will be creating a load of religious polls. They generate tons of comments.
You know, this is the same thing we had going in the civil rights era. The republicans were supporting Jim Crow laws, even though they clearly violated two amendments. And now they support laws that once again violate the same amendments. Does all people receive equal treatment under the constitution mean nothing to these fools? No, its clear it does not. And not ONE good non religious argument can be made for banning it, besides homosexuals can't raise children, which is absolute stupidity.
Jifpop09- you mean democrats
@Jifpop09 - Technically, Democrats were behind the Jim Crow laws. However, at that time, Democrats were conservative, and Republicans were liberal. So conservatives have been racist and homophobic.
Hey, Bettabreeder, I have a question. Do you like Morgan Freeman?
I know, but the split happened before the Jim Crow era, which is the time I was talking about.
No, and you know why, he's black :D Har Har Har. Republicans really don't like Africans or Mexicans, no matter how much they deny it.
Seriously though, do you Bettabreeder? Cat_Lover, this question is for you too.
Also, I'm challenging anyone here to find a single passage from the Bible where Jesus says homosexuality is a sin. Good luck, I doubt you'll find one.
Your right, as Jesus says this no where in the bible. Paul says this once, in the book of Corinthians, but Paul never met Jesus, and was not one of the disciples.
Still waiting, Bettabreeder and Cat_Lover, do you like Morgan Freeman?
No, I don't like morgan freeman.
Why do you want to know???

I wish there was a like button for this....
Ha, classic one Chris. It always works.
What's wrong with M. Freeman?
I don't get what just "worked"
Me either
Bettabreader Is that pro under an con column
@conservativelogic - Since when is that based off of religion? In fact, many rulers in medieval times (Christian ones) married relatives to keep their bloodlines pure. This is proven to cause inbreeding, which results in children being born with serious birth defects,
He'll just argue that homosexuality causes bad effects. This argument will not work on him
One Nation UNDER GOD
As constitutional as banning marriage between siblings.
Freedom of religion and freedom from religion. While the fool across from me says one nation under god, he is subjective enough not to specify. Assuming we all worship the same god in the same way. Do we, or do many people believe otherwise, as I personally believe that homosexuality is fine, and I'm christian myself. Also, the fool across from me did not answer the question, and if it is constitutional. The pledge of allegiance is not in the constitution.
They are going to be together either way. Would you rather them sin and go to Hell by having premarital sex?
They used to use that same ploy for inter racial marriage what changed?
duh
