Is that now racial discrimination or is that just being efficient?

@Heil: Dogs are bred for these purposes. This is done through years of selective breeding. It is done intentionally. It is entirely not the same thing.

@TheMariquis, you do know heil will then say we need to do selective breeding programs with humans. He has often stated in the past that anybody with genetic defects or disadvantages should be aborted.

@TheMarquis, doesn't the ability of an individual dog matter more than its breed?
TheMarquis says2015-04-25T21:21:27.4419238-05:00
@Joe: Obviously, but that isn't the question. Some beagles will beat a blood hound at the job, but that isn't usually the case.

But are you picking one breed over the other, or are you picking the best individuals dogs for the job.
TheMarquis says2015-04-25T21:24:47.2104475-05:00
@Joe: If I know the dogs I pick the best suited. If it is just a random pick then I'll go with the breed. It really depends on what information I have on hand when making the choice.

But you are not exactly picking the breed, you are picking the group that has the highest probability of having the better individuals. With limited information you have to make a generalization. But that generalization is still based on the individuals ability just translated as an average.
TheMarquis says2015-04-25T21:33:16.6422426-05:00
@Joe: No. It is based on intent of breeders.

If the all of the individuals of a certain breed ended up being bad at the job, (for instance continued breeding for the trait desired ended causing genetic problems) the breed would lose its status of being good at the job.
TheMarquis says2015-04-25T21:40:07.7699134-05:00
@Joe: And then it would become a lap dog.

HUMANS ARE NOT DIVIDED INTO DIFFERENT BREEDS. Your logic is flawed, and ridiculous.

Human races and dog breeds are completely different.
