  • Peak Oil is only a theory or hypothesis. A prediction about the future of oil production is mere speculation.

  • Peak Oil is an imminent crisis looming large over us.

  • Peak oil will only be a problem if we don't switch to electricity to power everything and the only way to do that is to build out nuclear power as much as possible.

  • Scientists predict that it'll happen around the year 2035. We won't suddenly be out of oil, not for a while, but we will slowly see a reduction in the amount of oil available. Oil prices will go up, and unless we manage to use alternative forms of energy, our ability to produce will go down. Our best option is to shift to alternate forms of energy, such as solar and wind.

  • There is a limited resource depleting quickly due to a limitless want. It is an imminent crisis that is looming over quicker and quicker as the resources are vanishing; convert to renewable energy. If we don't start converting to something else, the longer we wait, the harder it is going to be for the country and world to stabilize after there is the scarcity.

Peak oil prediction is based on known reserves. Since there are a great many reserves left to discover this is not an imminent problem.
