Jesus, also referred to as Jesus of Nazareth, is the central figure of Christianity, whom the teachings of most Christian denominations hold to be the Son of God. Christianity regards Jesus as the awaited Messiah of the Old Testament and refers to him as Jesus Christ, a name that is also used in non-Christian contexts.Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed historically, although the quest for the historical Jesus has produced little agreement on the historical reliability of the Gospels and on how closely the biblical Jesus reflects the historical Jesus. Most scholars agree that Jesus was a Jewish rabbi from Galilee who preached his message orally, was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman prefect, Pontius Pilate. Scholars have constructed various portraits of the historical Jesus, which often depict him as having one or more of the following roles: the leader of an apocalyptic movement, Messiah, a charismatic healer, a sage and philosopher, or an egalitarian social reformer.

Religion is existant, God isn't. Hopefully now you realize that the title is prone to misinterpretation by pedantic fools.

I think his intent is "Are the stories described in religious texts true?", to which I would select "No".

Religion is real, all the other stuff, no.

Well, honestly I'd say religion is real, but God and the bible... Yes. If the bible is so obsolete and outdated, why is Christianity the number one growing religion in the world. Even in countries where it is illegal to worship God, Christianity grows. How can that be explained? How can a Christianity last 2'000 years? Not even the Greek's and the Roman's Gods where worshipped that long. How is it that atheists main weapon against Christianity, the Bing Bang Theory, was made by the Catholic priest? How can you prove our God is non-existent?

@Plexon_Warrior That's because Christians and Muslims used to attempt to spread their faith all the time in the past. Radical Christians and Muslims still do to this day, there are many Christians that keep going door to door to preach.

You'll notice people like Jews and followers of eastern religions have kept their religion to themselves. And to this day, most people spreading their religion are usually followers of Islam and Christianity.

"If the bible is so obsolete and outdated, why is Christianity the number one growing religion in the world." - That would be Islam. || "Even in countries where it is illegal to worship God, Christianity grows. How can that be explained?" - I don't see how this is meaningful in any way. || "How can a Christianity last 2'000 years? Not even the Greek's and the Roman's Gods where worshipped that long." - Again, what does this mean? Hinduism has been practiced for ~6000 years. || "How is it that atheists main weapon against Christianity, the Bing Bang Theory, was made by the Catholic priest?" - Well, I wouldn't call anything a weapon, but regardless its not in any way an argument. There have been plenty of religious scientists || "How can you prove our God is non-existent?" - Can't. Just as you can't prove it exists.

Islam is not really an evangelistic religion so to speak. Radical Islam promotes the killing of those who do not share their faith. There are not many Radical Christians, and most door to door "preachers" are from a different religion loosely based on Judeo-Christian principles called Jehovah's Witness, like the Mormons call themselves Christian's, but it is a twisted view of Christianity. Christians do spread their faith, but in a way unlike any other religion. They don't press it on you, most of the time (some do). They don't persecute you not being a Christian, or at least they shouldn't, the Bible tells them not to, but they still love and respect you, even though you don't share the same views as them.

Way to shoot me down TBR. Many of those questions were to provoke conversation. Anyways yes its not really a weapon, but many atheists I know, personally, use it as one.

@Plexon_Warrior They shouldn't spread their faith when I could care less about their faith. I've met several Christians who wouldn't stop shoving their religion down my throat.
triangle.128k says2015-08-12T19:02:30.0351737Z
People that follow Judaism or eastern religions are a lot less inclined to "spread" their beliefs. They keep it to themselves. Why do you think countries like China are having an issue with Christianity spread?
Plexon_Warrior says2015-08-12T19:12:38.1972069Z
There are many reasons why, and its not usually about the religion itself. It's the fact that people believe that the Communist leadership is under God's judgment, that they don't have true authority of they countries people, and to the Communist regime that presents the threat of say a rebellion, something like the Falling of the Berlin Wall.

@Plexon_Warrior - You lay claim to the one true interpenetration of Christianity - labeling others loons. How is that any different than Muslims who say the same?
