Is the dogma, or text and rules, what make religion so controversial?

For example: Abrahamic religions have a lot of rules and dogma whereas religions in paganism usually dont. Do the religions in paganism get along better with one another because they do not feel the are the "only way"?

  • Yes, when a dogma states "the one true way" or "the only path" the religions are going to bump heads

  • No, Dogma is not why religions do not get along

  • It's due to the nature of the questions Religion tries to answer (Such as the purpose of life, the origin of life et cetera)

"Do the religions in paganism get along better with one another because they do not feel the are the "only way"?" That's not true. Many pagan religions clash, in fact I think almost all of them do. Before Abrahamic religions came about pagans were killing pagans.

In fact, there are even different sects of pagan religions that have caused conflicts.
