  • No its heat and light come from nuclear fusion.

  • the glare is plasma. Besides there's no oxygen

  • It's Plasma.

  • Yes, it all like Helium, and Hydrogen right.

  • Fusion of atoms caused by the pressure of its gravity. Most common element fused is hydrogen into helium. But when the gravity gets even stronger it can even fuse helium into heavier atoms.

  • Fire is chemical combustion (a.k.a. stocks), the sun generates energy (a.k.a. wealth) through nuclear fusion (a.k.a. hedgefunds). This energy falls on Earth in the form of light and heat (a.k.a. trickle-down economics).

  • Because it's simply solar fusion

  • Fire is a thermal chemical reaction between a substance and oxygen resulting in it being ignited. The sun's thermal radiation is triggered by nuclear fusion reactions that cause extreme heat to release plasma that in turn causes the thermal radiation.

@Mathgeekjoe Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe hearing that the sun is too small to fuse helium into heavier elements.

"Mathgeekjoe Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe hearing that the sun is too small to fuse helium into heavier elements." You are correct at least in the present. I was talking about all stars in general, but the sun is included when it explodes, as heil mentioned.

I can't believe I just said heil was correct on something, there must be something wrong with the universe.

Mathgeekjoe - Heils problem is not that he is dumb, its that he is mentally ill.

@TBR: No, his problem is that he's a troll...
