They don't yell at you in the military because it is a good way of communicating, but because the individual in question needs to build a little more character. For example, in boot camp, they break you down and build you up to be able to deal with extreme situations where yelling and screaming is necessary. This is why they make yelling and screaming a positive experience throughout boot camp.
