This is a loaded question. Look, political correctness is not a thing. It is a word that has time and time again been interchanged with 'respect' as an excuse to be, frankly, disrespectful and rude. With that in mind, isn't part of being respectful being historically accurate? It is respectful and historically accurate to talk about the pain inflicted on slaves in the United States. It is respectful and historically accurate to discuss Japanese Internment during WW2. People have been claiming that "political correctness" is destroying the country since the civil rights movement. It's not destroying the country, its changing it, and changing it for the better.
Political correctness is destroying whatever freedom we have left. This is the intention of those behind it. It is nothing but a tool to control us.
Historically accuracy is much more important than political correctness, no matter haw supposedly important it is.
