Yes. It's more inclusive to the LGBTQIA community!
No. Iceman has always been heterosexual since his conception and should stay that way!
Gay people rock white power praise all muslims and jews ILYSM
I find it very dumb that we have to intentionally include groups like this. It kind of shows how incredibly insecure they are with themselves. I hate the term "inclusion" because it's such a buzz word in this day in age and all it does is give you some social brownie points from far left leaning individuals. I of course am not talking about all people from this group but the group as a whole has shown itself to be very insecure, otherwise they wouldn't need to have gay pride parades and the like. You don't see too many straight white male parades going around and don't tell me it's because they have been historically discriminated against. That is a complete cop out since Jews should be in the same boat but act nothing like this.
There is no reason to randomly change arbitrary things about characters. Characters exist they way they do. Sure, there is some wiggle room in different interpretations of the characters. However, we shouldn't just go around changing things at random. More importantly, though, Marvel accomplishes nothing by doing this. The common argument made is that LGBT people need good role models and inclusion. However, if Marvel really wanted to create good role models and be truly inclusive, they would create new superheroes, some of whom might happen to be gay or trans or what have you. Changing a character like that not only undermines that entire fanbase that character has, but it also isn't truly inclusive; it's kind of a cop out on Marvel's part.
I really don't like that they made Iceman gay. Not because I hate gay people or anything. It's just that he's been an established heterosexual sing his creation- more than that- he was a WOMANIZER- a ladie's man. Many defendants say that there have been hints on Iceman's sexuality since the 90's, but I call bull!! There's been more hints that he was always intended to be straight- when Polaris rejected him for Havoc, he was truly heartbroken- if he were really gay he would not have cared that much. His relationships with people such as Kitty Pryde were quite serious- too serious for an uncloseted gay person trying to pass as straight. Plus, in the future, he is married to Kitty and has a daughter with her. What's the deal with people wanting to make literally EVERYONE gay these days: Captain America, Supergirl, heck- some people even want Luke Cage and Iron Fist to be a couple. I've no problem with fan fiction homosexual couples but those who expect those ships to be canon are just fooling themselves. Anyway, I HATE the fact that Iceman is gay. Marvel want to be more inclusive when in reality, they are being more EXclusive by alienating dedicated Iceman fans by suddenly changing his sexuality. If Marvel want to be more inclusive to LGBT people, they should either promote the already gay characters they have or make new ones! Not change the sexuality of an alrealdy established straight one- it's just lazy writing.
