It depends.
Vox_Veritas says2015-08-12T23:34:16.5701021Z
So 5 year olds can date but 17 year olds cannot?
R.Brden says2015-08-12T23:34:22.5761406Z
On what?
R.Brden says2015-08-12T23:37:26.2673181Z
Sorry i forgot about 17
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-13T01:57:15.9898464Z
Right to date? I wish people would stop throwing the word 'right' around. They think everything is a right.
Midnight1131 says2015-08-13T01:58:00.0133286Z
I think by right age to date he meant "correct age to date." Not like fundamental rights or something like that.
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-13T02:00:21.1318332Z
No youre right ... I must have seen the tile headline wrong. The description above is better.
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-13T02:01:31.8626866Z
In that case I think parents should extend the privilege for you to be able to date at 13-16. That's certainly up to their discretion though.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-08-13T04:45:00.8623644Z
Quite a few parents don't let their kids date in college, so splitting 18+ to 18-22 and 22+ might work better
triangle.128k says2015-08-13T04:58:02.1153724Z
@Diqiucun_Cunmin Is it really like that in China? At least where I live, people in my school start dating at age 12 -_-
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-08-13T05:06:36.4662695Z
@triangle: Yeah, here anyway. 18+ is the normal acceptable age though.
triangle.128k says2015-08-13T05:07:28.9130882Z
People have seriously made fun of me in 7th grade for not dating anybody... I wish it was like that here.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-08-13T05:13:58.0271000Z
@triangle: 7th grade is way too early, lol. I don't think anyone even considers dating until 10th or something.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-08-13T05:15:28.7728817Z
I mean here.
triangle.128k says2015-08-13T05:19:21.7752578Z
I actually remember hearing of two people that dated in 2nd grade...
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-08-13T05:20:40.5876805Z
:O
triangle.128k says2015-08-13T05:21:42.3484764Z
A lot of people made fun of them at least... But it really scares me with how liberal the sexual attitudes of people here are.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-08-13T05:28:55.8908555Z
@triangle: Actually, it's quite common here to poke fun at liberal sexual attitudes in the US.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-08-13T05:29:28.9162672Z
Americans are stereotypically promiscuous here.
triangle.128k says2015-08-13T05:31:45.0888226Z
I think it really depends on where you live though. The US is a pretty diverse country in several aspects, so it might not be like that in other places, I don't know.
triangle.128k says2015-08-13T05:39:18.9900497Z
I'd say a lot of american stereotypes actually come from southeastern american culture. (Guns, bible thumpers and rednecks for example)
Roodvlees says2015-08-13T06:21:38.8884135Z
I don't know. It's probably different for each person.
yoozur.naym says2015-08-13T12:16:14.2849166Z
America is full of promiscuous prudes. Very interesting contradiction.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-08-13T14:42:47.5991683Z
@yoozur: What's that supposed to mean? XD
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-19T14:04:49.5171075Z
@yoozur I agree. Maybe these two are looking at America from different vantage points. I dont know many outsiders that label us as we do southeastern US, that seems to be more of a US citizen mindset. Outsiders dont think of us nearly as conservative as we think we are. The US is actually one of the more liberal nations out there.
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-19T14:07:31.4287361Z
Youre saying their promiscuous and liberal, coming from an Asian? Perspective. Triangle is calling us conservative prudes from his Canadian/Euro/Aussie perspective? Those would make sense considering where each of those regions you two relate with stand on things.
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-19T14:08:02.7297764Z
So I guess that puts us in the middle somewhere. Not a bad place to be.
triangle.128k says2015-08-19T15:23:11.9940128Z
@FreedomBeforeEquality I'm not sure what you mean.
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-20T17:03:35.8176641Z
One view from the far left liberal looking at the US as too conservative ... The other coming from an uber conservative place calling the US too liberal. I think that means we must lie somewhere in between the two.
triangle.128k says2015-08-20T17:06:47.7567212Z
@FreedomBeforeEquality I'm not saying the US in genetal is too liberal. I just said the US is too liberal regarding things like this, such as dating.
triangle.128k says2015-08-20T17:06:57.3837263Z
*general
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-20T17:23:39.8645823Z
I didnt even catch that from your side. I caught that you said the US was a bunch of gun toting bible thumpers. Diqiucun is the one that was saying we were promiscuous.
triangle.128k says2015-08-20T17:52:11.3827535Z
I was just referring to stereotypes. Diqiucun said it's common in his region to make fun of the US regarding the liberal sexual attitudes. I simply stated it might not be like that in all regions in the US. I just simply stated that a lot of stereotypes come from some places in the deep south.
FreedomBeforeEquality says2015-08-20T20:45:59.2433055Z
Not any of the stereotypes he was referring to though.
