Should a Chimp be legally considered a person if detained in a zoo?

  • Technically, although humans tend to flatter themselves, we are just animals. So what makes us so much better than animals? For that matter, all animals should be considered equal to humans, because guess what, WE ARE JUST LIKE THEM.

That's not true Mike. If that was really the case, we would also have to consider one-celled bacteria "a person." Also, what does it have to due with being in a zoo? That wouldn't change the legal definition of the chimp.

Wow, Mike, you are really ignorant about evolution, aren't you? Evolution is a scientific fact, it is not an attempt to take "God" out of anything. Also, person is defined as a human being regarded as an individual. Chimps are a different species.

Legally, even a corporation can have the same rights as a person according to the Supreme Court.
