  • No but there need to be restriction to keep guns out of the hands of those who will be reckless and make sure people will know how to properly use them.

  • The minute we the people lose our guns, whats to stop the government from enforcing marshall law and enslaving us? American history is built on its people repelling the opposing forces from impeding on freedom.

According to the cdc guns save 400,000 lives in America a year and take 30,000 lives. Most of their 30,000 gun deaths couldn't be prevented by banning guns anyways.

@AnonymousBoy: It's not muskets on muskets anymore that's why the constitution was written so you could defend yourself from the government, however they have drones now so if they wanted to invoke "marshall law" they could. Your little toys wont save you

@hect (insert sarcastic voice) Because, you know the use of small arms in a guerrilla style resistance movement has NEVER worked before. Why even try.
hect says2015-05-22T17:07:38.3752216-05:00
@58539672: do you honestly think those tactics would overthrow the american government in their own country with the incredibly advanced weaponry and military they have now?
58539672 says2015-05-22T18:58:36.9660394-05:00
@hect Your assuming that the US government is somehow different than any other. Any resistance movement can succeed, regardless of the odds, so long as they have the support of the general populace. Not even the great US military can defeat its own people.

Tbr are you anti gun control?
TBR says2015-05-23T11:45:33.6178014-05:00
Dilara, no I am not. This poll is a juxtaposition for this poll http://www.debate.org/polls/should-pot-possession-be-illegal-because-a-small-percentage-are-reckless

Do you believe that assault weapons should be banned?
TBR says2015-06-09T20:29:38.6396693-05:00
@Dilara - I think ALL guns are equally preposterous. Yes, it takes a special brand of machismo to want an assault rifle.
Dilara says2015-06-09T21:31:14.2456721-05:00
TBR. Would you tell that to a women whose being stalked by her abusive ex boy friend and wants a weapon to defend her self? Or a rape victim who wants a gun to ensure she won't be raped again? What if a mob of 30 people attacked your store? You couldn't reload every 10 rounds or they'd kill you and destroy your store. The only Korean shop keepers whose stores weren't destroyed during the LA riots were the ones who stood on their roofs with automatic guns. Since riots at becoming a bit of a trend I think it's fine if a small business owner wants an automatic weapon for self defense. There's nothing wrong with defending your self from a mob of thugs. Unarmed and helpless is not a condition that any local business owner should be in.
TBR says2015-06-09T21:34:32.7063689-05:00
1) Yes. Answer to your question is yes. 2) assault weapons are not automatic weapon. 3) I don't condone killing over property.
Dilara says2015-06-10T09:41:07.9089952-05:00
What do you mean by assault weapon? And I consider the life of a criminal who chooses to inflict emotional or physical Harm others for his or her own selfish reasons, to be less important than some of my prized possessions with deep meanings and family history. I wouldn't think twice about shooting a rapist or murderer who invaded my home. Sad day for them. They shouldn't have come into my home and tried to commit a crime. Do the crime do the time.

"What do you mean by assault weapon?" - At this time, the term refers to semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 |||| "And I consider the life of a criminal who chooses to inflict emotional or physical Harm others for his or her own selfish reasons, to be less important than some of my prized possessions with deep meanings and family history." - 1) You were discussing defending racks of Cheetos, now you are moving the goalposts, regardless, killing over property is not reasonable. |||| "I wouldn't think twice about shooting a rapist or murderer who invaded my home. Sad day for them. They shouldn't have come into my home and tried to commit a crime. Do the crime do the time." - What of it? As so often happens with your points, they go everywhere.
Dilara says2015-06-10T10:26:36.2553916-05:00
TBR. I need a semi automatic rifle to defend my self from a mob of criminals. I can't stop to reload or else the 30+ criminals will get me. And yes my prized possessions witch have been in my family for a long time are more important any than violent thugs. And rapists and murderers a are as worthless as cockroaches.

You live in a dark world Dilara. Step out on the street, its not that bad - really.
Dilara says2015-12-03T02:45:19.2045231Z
TBR. Where were you last year when rioters took to the streets, beating and destroying and killing?
TBR says2015-12-03T02:48:04.9222608Z
Dilara - What incident are you speaking of?

I honestly have no idea what that story is intended to say to me. If you are asking where i "was" on the ferguson protests - right with them (in spirit). || P.S. Did you read your link?
Dilara says2015-12-03T02:56:14.8215204Z
The guys who killed Zemir had gone to a Mike Brown rally right before and yelled "kill white people".
TBR says2015-12-03T03:04:32.0683329Z
Well, lets start with this. Your link "'There is no evidence that this was a crime occasioned by the race or ethnicity of the victim,' St Louis Mayor Francis Slay said in a statement Monday. ". Now, lets forget that for a sec. Let's say your (wrong from the link provided) theory were right. 1) WHat does that have to do with this poll question? 2) Saying that someone became violent in reaction to police violence is not a surprise to me. I expect much more, and think it is surprising how peaceful any of these protests have been.
Dilara says2015-12-03T03:09:03.2725944Z
The story is about how authorities denied it was a hate crime. That's why they mentioned that quote. Its relevant because with all the thug fests/riots that have been going on, mobs of thugs have been harming people. One might need an automatic weapon to defend them selves from a mob of thugs. I see you sympathize with violence, as a response to "police violence". The Ferguson shooting was justified. The doj admitted that.
TBR says2015-12-03T03:12:17.1013519Z
I see your connection. Please Dilara, hide in a safe room with your AK. The black thugs ARE coming for you, and there really is nothing I can do to help you.
Dilara says2015-12-03T03:15:31.8973032Z
Nice way to take my points out of context, to compensate for a week argument. I do not like weapons and I do not particularly want a semi auto. But I still believe that people should have the right to own one if it keeps them safe from mob violence, which is very common these days.
TBR says2015-12-03T03:28:30.1139146Z
You can own a gun if you like. Look at any of my posts about guns, I don't talk about banning any guns. This poll was part of a pair as I recall. Regardless, I think owning a gun for protection is part of paranoia - paranoia you suffer from in spades. And from spades at that. Yea, I really cant help this paranoia you have about "black thugs". You are just too far gone.
