It isn't fair if people can not pursue what they want to pursue. It's not right that equity drags down someone in the pursuit of happiness and wealth. It's not their fault some people aren't rich.

I vote neither. You have to carefully balance the two so that you maintain a decent standard of living for the majority while also having enough competition and incentive to encourage people to better themselves and society. One side leads to continual accumulation of power and wealth to a small number of people while the rest are eventually enslaved, while the other side stops the advancement of society and drags everyone down to the same minimal level.
