It would be a hilarious thing to watch. Even more of a spectacle than the 'impeach Obama' or 'sue Obama' thing.
Absolutely. The Supreme Court is creating things out of whole cloth, instead of interpreting laws.
The Supreme Court is not allowed to create laws, only to clarify certain laws on a case-by-case basis. Also, the federal government should not tell the states what to do. Localized government more accurately represents the people.
I support gay marriage and I am not gay
Marriage is the union between a man and woman, anything else is not marriage. Also without a religion and God to form the marriage under it is debatable to weather non religious marriages are actually marriages and not civil unions.
It would take a constitutional amendment to strike down that ruling. Which is incredibly unlikely, given our hyper-partisan politics. Be that as it may. Our founding fathers wanted a country where people have the liberty to do what they pleased within their personal lives. Despite what the evangelical right says. Our country was not based on Christian principles. We are not a Christian nation. The treaty of Tripoli explicitly stated we are not a Christian nation and that war was not a religious war. So to deny gays the right to marry based on the fact that we are a "Christian nation" is intellectually dishonest.
