  • I'm fine with gay people having the right to get married, as long as they don't violate anyone else's freedom of religion. For instance, if a christian church does not support gay marriage, they should not be forced by the couple or the government to perform it or have their non-profit status revoked.

  • It is vile to deny someone of a basic right because of who they love. If somebody is lucky enough to find someone they love and want to spend their life with, does it really matter what gender that person happens to be? Marriage can be to share possessions, real estate, etc. but it could also be because they are simply in love. When humans lose their love and compassion, they lose their humanity. Any shred of love left, homosexual or heterosexual, should be treasured. People say that homosexuals are not natural but marriage isn't natural either. We are the only species who get formally married so why would it matter who marries who?

  • The world is already overpopulated so why can gay couples not marry? It also means that there is a better chance of poor orphans being adopted! : )

  • Of course, I asked God , he said it's cool.

  • When marriage applies to social benefits then yes. I don't think people should be forced to give them a wedding except for the government.

  • I know that because I said no people will all hate me, go ahead. But, i should clarify that marriage is a religious act. Most religions you find around the world will not marry two member of the same sex. I do however believe that homosexuals should be able to enter into a legal contract in which they are partners. That is not religious. Should have checked language usage on this question.

  • This is biased XD. I don't think anyone should do anything about marriage, meaning that straight people shouldn't be able to marry legally.

  • Pray away the gay!

  • There is a plague seeping through our country. A plague that can only be described by words with hyphens: hot-girls-turning-into-lesbians-so-now-i-crii-errytiem. But seriously, I'm being sarcastic with my vote, I'm pro gay weddings. As long as I get a slice of the cake now and again.

Kay_the_Conservative, "marriage is a religious act." - Yes, thank you for letting us all know that you have no idea what marriage is and how it works in a secular society. And fyi, in my religion, Pastafarianism, gays are allowed and encouraged to get married. Why are you taking away my religious freedom?

@brian, I'm talking about legal marriage, which i already dont agree with. Legal marriage give tax cuts on income tax (which I already don't like). If they are doing this legal marriage, it is meant for a family, for straights. I have nothing against gays, but it would be better if government just took all that away.

CyberConor, So only straight people have families? Do you realize how hypocritical, biased and one-sided that sounds? You assume that families only consist of straight people, and pretty much ignore the fact that many gay couples do have families and many married heterosexuals actually do not. I see no reason to deny gay couples marriage under the law. It is not only a violation of the 14th Amendment, it's pointless. Marriage isn't about having children regardless.

Not gonna pick one but gays can go and get married as long as they don't impede on other people's religious rights. And gay marriage is merely not acknowledged by the state. Just go and get married to your boyfriend. Just know I do not acknowledge, accept or tolerate it.

I am still undecided on this topic. So not really biased or one sided. I still believe that marriage shouldn't even have any government in it. That is not the governments job. You know, i have many gay family members, I don't hate gays, and any opinion on gay marriage has no religious input in it. It's ironic you even bring up the bill of rights because you don't even support the 2nd amendment. So like I said, I don't really care about this topic, I care about government marriage in general.
