  • We need to help these people. We need to give them as much humanitarian aid as possible. But we mustn't allow this to cloud all other issues on the home front.

  • No. Government should not prioritize the humanitarian needs of refugees over its high priority national interests.

  • Look a what Germany did. Mass migration (of mostly economic migrants) caused an increase in crime.

  • No we in The States already have 11 million (YES 11 MILLION) illegals. As Donald Trump says we need to deal with that situation first before looking to accept more into God's own country. God Bless America.

  • I do not think that governments should prioritize refugee humanitarian rights over national interest, BUT they DO need to put them on the working schedule, to put ASIDE some resources for them, because refugee are minority of the society and should not become the total focus on the daily schedule for sure. The main thing is just not to forget about them entirely.

  • A government still has an obligation to uphold its self-interests and more generally the best interests of its citizens, regardless of what melt-downs may be occurring in the outside world. The Washington Free Beacon Magazine says "Two al Qaeda terrorists were able to enter the country as refugees, according to a report from the House Homeland Security Committee. The terrorists settled in Bowling Green, Kentucky, after killing American soldiers."

It's a little ambiguous which is a yes and which is a no.

I can't exactly pick a side on this one, I feel like it depends on the situation within the country itself, how many refugees there are, where the refugees are from, how rich the country is, population of the country in contrast to the refugees etc.

@DeuceKaboose, I agree on the reasoning parts (not the "feelings"), and I also think that "National Interests" is a bit vague. So, it would be important to consider those against all the things you mentioned.

I feel like the phrasing here is extremely loaded. It is like, "Are you an Anarcho-Capitalist or an SJW?" And I am sitting here like, "Ummm.... I support common sense background checks?"

What is this I don't even. Please re-phrase to "ours" and "theirs".
