Lannan13, I agree! The 2nd amendment gives us the right to bear arms, and it shall not be infringed. Though, the US government is now trying to take that away.
retrogamer176 says2015-05-21T09:46:35.8062043-05:00
@sniper how is the government trying to take that away?
PillowForce says2015-05-21T09:47:24.6351433-05:00
And then Americans wonder why there are school shootings... You dumbasses
Sniper1576 says2015-05-21T09:48:59.6675039-05:00
Oi, PillowForce! That is the person's choice that they shoot, not the gun's. And, Retrogamer176, the government is now lowering the amount of ammo on certain guns and trying to take away guns.
PillowForce says2015-05-21T09:52:32.6807672-05:00
@sniper1576 I personally have lived in Europe (where guns are not legal) and the US, and in Europe guess what, there is no chance of a shooting because even if the person wanted to shoot someone, they cant. Unlike in the US. Now people say they need guns to defend themselves from other people with guns. Well if no one has guns you don't need to defend yourself.
retrogamer176 says2015-05-21T09:53:35.4471770-05:00
@sniper "that is the person's choice that they shoot" So, should we have a universal backround cheak to see if the person can handle a gun? As for the second point, what kind of guns are they taking? High powered machine guns? Or just normal handguns?
retrogamer176 says2015-05-21T09:54:01.3624417-05:00
Also, I think I misspelled background and check...
Sniper1576 says2015-05-21T09:54:37.2573631-05:00
Incorrect. No matter what, someone is in danger of getting injured or killed by another human being. Our gun laws, actually, protect us from OTHER COUNTRIES. Think back to WW2. Why didn't the Japanese or Germans attack us on our motherland/US?
tajshar2k says2015-05-21T09:54:41.4538707-05:00
I just support background checks, so mentally challenged people don't get their hands on guns.
PillowForce says2015-05-21T09:55:54.6111470-05:00
@tajshar systems are never secure. Even if only one person can actually buy guns cause of checks, they will then sell them to other people. Sad but true.
retrogamer176 says2015-05-21T09:57:05.4031117-05:00
@tajshar2k Don't forget, not all illnesses are crippling. I have autism, but nobody would notice unless I told them, but the illness is gonna prevent me from ever going to the military anyways.
tajshar2k says2015-05-21T09:58:15.8843806-05:00
@retrogame176 Sorry, If I offended you, but I meant guys who go crazy and think its okay to murder a group of children.
PillowForce says2015-05-21T09:58:47.3845885-05:00
@Sniper fist of all, they did. Second of all, it was all MILITARY. Gangsters carrying handguns don't scare anyone away. Another reason is because the US wasn't the center of war, as in they weren't one of the main countries infiltrated, as Russia, UK and Germany were. And they are across the world from them.
retrogamer176 says2015-05-21T09:59:37.2252313-05:00
@tajshar2k No offense taken, but still, the way you stated it could easily be taken out of context.
tajshar2k says2015-05-21T10:00:12.8251159-05:00
@pillowforce Banning guns is illogical. Too many are sold in the black market.
Sniper1576 says2015-05-21T10:01:20.2727124-05:00
The Japanese wanted to make a treaty with us to get our land. And, what I mean by "motherland/US" is our main land: Iowa, California, Nevada, Texas, etc... Our mainland is full of guns, so people would fend off the soldiers, no matter the cost. And, the attack on Pearl Harbor was unknown to us, because it was undercover and only known by the Japanese.
retrogamer176 says2015-05-21T10:02:10.5578021-05:00
@pillowforce if you want to ban guns, look at the drug war and alcohol prohibition.
PillowForce says2015-05-21T10:03:21.3235408-05:00
@tajshar it would definitely stop a lot though. I could see why it would be legal 200 years ago. But not with this modern warfare guns and many more people to worry about its not logical to allow them. There is no land to protect. Which is the main reason why they were allowed.
PillowForce says2015-05-21T10:05:21.7881100-05:00
@retrogamer176 honestly as long as it doesn't hurt other people I don't see why some drugs should be banned.
retrogamer176 says2015-05-21T10:06:50.4923632-05:00
@pillowforce The drug war increased drug use, and alchohol prohibition caused the mafia to grow powerful. Ban guns, and the mafia becomes even more powerful.
tajshar2k says2015-05-21T10:06:56.8104847-05:00
@It will stop "Legal" owners from getting them. So what happens, is that criminals have them and people who use them to protect themselves don't.
Sniper1576 says2015-05-21T11:07:09.3251548-05:00
Guns allow us to protect ourselves from: 1) A corrupt government And/or 2) An invading country
retrogamer176 says2015-05-21T12:57:14.8977826-05:00
@pillowforce that wasn't my point. I agree that drugs should be legal. The question was, if the drug war increased drug use, what's to stop the banning of guns from increasing gun use?
biggest_pro_going says2015-05-21T15:03:46.1597656-05:00
I somehow doubt that a well trained and organized and VERY committed army like Japan's in WW2 would be in anyway detoured by a bunch of Texans with hunting rifles which are used for shooting bears and blacks not fighting a war.
CyberConor says2015-05-21T15:57:13.6282465-05:00
Sniper1576 is right, the Japanese didn't even plan a mass invasion in America because they said that "behind every blade of grass was an armed american" or something like that. Also, you really think that disarming law abiding citizens will help anyone, criminals aren't going to follow another law. It's for protection, so that, no matter how unlikely, if the U.S. military failed, the civilains can defend the country.
Theunkown says2015-05-27T13:26:18.0287437-05:00
"Think back to WW2. Why didn't the Japanese or Germans attack us on our motherland/US?" Yes, the greatest armies in the world were scared of a few Americans holding a pistol or shotgun, give me a break. The main reason for a lack of invasion on US soil was US air naval supremacy over Japan, plus Japan being preoccupied with the 2nd Sino Japanese war and British/Soviets bogging the Germans down in Europe (mostly the Soviets).
