A lot countries that were formally under imperialism actually have higher life standards than they did before imperialism

Well, taking over smaller countries would yield resources, so that makes sense. Since the United States has the strongest military in the world, imagine how many we could take over! Although, I'm not sure it would be a could thing. Every country that spreads far usually ends up losing that area, since it's to much to manage. So maybe having many allies spread far is better?

The problem is usually differing cultures and ethnicities and ideologies. The roman empire collapsed and never really recovered fully because it was too ethnically diverse while the Han dynasty being ethnically and culturally unified, was able to recover in later dyansties

The solution I believe in homogenizing the areas to be one culture and custom and most importantly one ideology

Definitely, but getting people to assimilate is a very difficult thing to do, and it usually leads to revolutions or civil wars even, I guess it's really not possible. Countries always separate eventually
